What you’ll do

• Engineering Analysis & Design Validation: Conduct CFD and FEA studies to validate and improve the performance, reliability, and durability of centrifugal pumps and related mining equipment. Daily tasks include hydraulic and structural analysis of pumps, baseplates, hydrocyclones, valves, and support structures. Success means delivering validated designs that enhance product performance and reliability.

• Simulation & Technical Activities: Perform detailed CFD analyses such as flow performance, cavitation, NPSH, pressure drop, erosion, and wear studies. Conduct static/dynamic structural, fatigue, vibration, rotor dynamics, linear/non-linear FEA, and elastic-plastic analyses. Validate designs against engineering standards.

• Product & Industry Knowledge: Apply deep understanding of pump hydraulics, vibration behavior, nozzle loads, and support structures during design reviews and product development. Contribute to value engineering initiatives using FMEA and VAVE methodologies.

• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Technology teams to solve complex hydraulic and structural challenges. Participate in technical discussions with internal stakeholders and customers.

• Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required to support field investigations, customer meetings, or cross-site collaboration.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:

• Strong hands-on experience with CFD and FEA, specifically ANSYS Fluent and ANSYS Workbench

• Proven ability to conduct design validation, engineering analysis, and support failure investigations

• BE or MTech in Mechanical Engineering with 5-8 years of relevant experience in product engineering or manufacturing

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and effective communication skills with stakeholder management experience

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience investigating field failures and performing root cause analysis in pump or mining equipment industries
• Familiarity with NX Nastran, NX or SpaceClaim CAD tools, and fatigue or non-linear FEA analysis
• Knowledge of international standards such as API, ASME, EN, BS, or IS codes
• Exposure to VAVE and FMEA methodologies, elastomer or gasket analysis, and bulk material handling equipment
