Purpose of Role: We are seeking an experienced CAD Engineer to provide engineering design and drafting support for industrial products and equipment. The candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, manufacturing documentation, and engineering deliverables while ensuring compliance with customer specifications, company standards, and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate will possess strong CAD modelling expertise, practical manufacturing knowledge, and the ability to independently support multiple engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Drafting

• Create and modify detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Develop manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly drawings.
• Generate General Arrangement (GA), detail, and installation drawings.
• Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs).
• Ensure adherence to design standards, drafting practices, and customer requirements.
• Perform drawing updates based on Engineering Change Notices (ECN/ECR).

Product Engineering Support

• Support engineers in product development, customization, and design modifications.
• Assist in converting concepts and sketches into production-ready CAD models.
• Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations for manufacturability and cost optimization.
• Maintain product structures and CAD data within PLM/PDM systems.

Documentation & Configuration Management

• Manage engineering documentation, revision control, and drawing releases.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of CAD deliverables.
• Maintain design records and technical documentation.
• Support configuration management and document control processes.

Manufacturing & Project Support

• Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, quality, and project teams.
• Resolve drawing-related issues during fabrication and assembly.
• Participate in design validation and product improvement initiatives.
• Support prototyping, testing, and installation activities when required.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in CAD design and drafting.
• Experience working on industrial equipment, pumps, rotating equipment, process equipment, mining equipment, heavy engineering products, or similar industries.
• Prior experience as a freelance or contract design engineer is desirable.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: BE/ Diploma/ Graduate

No of years: 2 to 4 Years

• Specific experience requirement:   CAD designs and drawings using UG NX.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes is desirable.
• Good knowledge and understanding of GDNT and drawing standards.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
