We have an opening for a Senior Structural Engineer. This role can be based in the following cities:
Location: Los Angeles, CA, Riverside, CA, Sacramento, CA, San Diego, CA
Position Summary:
As a Senior Structural Engineer focused on elevating our work within the Healthcare sector, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that push the envelope of resilient design while collaborating with the sector team to achieve our business plan goals. You will lead a team of junior staff to produce high-quality construction documents using Revit and manage project schedules to meet deliverable requirements. As part of the integrated design team, you will collaborate closely with other disciplines to produce highly integrated building designs. This role will work directly with the regional discipline leader to assist in developing work plans, project schedules, budgets, and proposals for both internal teams and external clients. You will collaborate with the Healthcare sector leadership team to develop and execute strategies for business development, growing our integrated practice.
The successful candidate will:
- Partner with the Healthcare Regional Sector Leader and Regional Structural Engineering Leader to set strategic directions for growth and actively participate in business plan strategies and initiatives for the California Healthcare sector.
- Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards
- Facilitate and document meetings with staff and clients, coordinating project personnel, vendors, and consultants
- Actively engage in business development initiatives by contributing to RFP responses, participating in client interviews and fostering client relationships
- Lead the design on projects of significance
- Collaborate early and often with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design process and culture, resulting in growth of revenue and scale of practice
- Carry out technical review of interdisciplinary teams prior to issuance
- Represent DLR Group at meetings with owners, clients, and suppliers
- Produce construction documents using Revit.
- Assist contractors by reviewing shop drawings, RFIs and participating in O/A/C meetings.
- Pass along knowledge by mentoring entry-level staff.
- Contribute to managing the operations, execution, and expectations for the Structural Engineering Discipline in California.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
- Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) required in the state of California.
- 7+ years of experience working as an engineer, including engineering design according to HCAI/OSHPD standards within the Healthcare sector in California
- Working knowledge of the design and construction process and the ability to understand and communicate with professionals of other disciplines
- Strong critical thinking, time management, and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Understanding of business management and customer service principles, thought leadership and relationship building
- Demonstrated record of consistent quality work
- Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc).
- Experience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for sustainable building design and SE2050 commitment.
- Experience with directing and coordinating project activities of junior staff.

Position Summary

- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) preferred
- Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc).
- Experience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow.
- Goal oriented with strong skills in problem solving, creativity, and attention to detail.
- Understanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies.

Position Summary
The Building Performance Analyst will assist the project design team, including architects and engineers, during the design process by identifying impactful building performance strategies. They will use energy modeling and building performance analysis to quantify the feasibility of building performance strategies and advocate for the most impactful strategies with the design team.
The Building Performance Analyst will act as an integrated design resource, providing insights and actionable data to project teams to set and achieve building performance goals. They will advocate for high performing buildings and provide design feedback drawing from sustainable design best practices.
The successful candidate will
- Be responsible for energy modeling and analysis, daylighting analysis, writing reports for energy life cycle cost analysis, utility incentives as required by the state, code and utilities, and LEED documentation.
- Evaluate the impact and feasibility of energy conservation strategies through optimization of building form, envelope, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Apply their knowledge of building systems and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot technical design challenges.
- Research high performance building strategies such as daylight optimization, thermal comfort, analysis of metered data, etc.
- Act as an integrated design resource, providing insights and actionable data to project teams to set and achieve building performance goals.
- Develop sustainability and performance design narratives and deliverables at all stages of design for projects.
- Leading Integrated Design charrettes managing and providing sustainable design services during different phases of the design process.

We have an opening for a Senior Interior Designer to lead our California Education Interior Design Practice. This role can be based in our Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego or Sacramento offices and will include collaboration on education projects in the 6 offices across California, including travel to those offices.
Position Summary
As a dynamic and strategic Senior Interior Designer you will lead both design excellence and business growth in our K12 and Higher Education practices. This is a high-impact leadership role, responsible for driving creative vision and project execution as well as building client relationships.
As a key leader in our Interiors practice, you will oversee a dedicated team of interior designers focused on education, guiding project delivery from concept through construction while fostering an environment of collaboration, growth, and innovation. You’ll work closely with market sector leaders and business development teams to pursue new opportunities, build visibility in the region, and ensure that DLR Group remains a trusted partner and thought leader in the industry. What you will do
- Lead, mentor and grow a high-performing interior design team of 8-12, creating a culture of design excellence, accountability, and innovation.
- Direct all phases of design, from early concept development through documentation and construction administration.
- Actively participate in client engagement, industry networking, and relationship building to drive new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing, business development, and sector leadership on project pursuits and participate in client interviews to win work.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding strategy, design, and execution with clarity and confidence.
- Shape and reinforce DLR Group’s integrated design approach through cross-disciplinary collaboration.
- Oversee the technical quality and constructability of design documents, and ensure alignment with budgets, schedules, and sustainability goals.
- Inspire and coach junior and intermediate designers, actively supporting professional development and project leadership growth.
- Maintain an active presence in the local design community, representing DLR Group at events, conferences, and professional organizations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design
- 10+ years of interior design experience with a focus on education projects
- Professional licensure (required); LEED AP or sustainability-related credential preferred
- Demonstrated leadership in both team development and project execution
- Proficiency in Revit and knowledge of standard A/E/C software tools
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
- Active involvement in design industry organizations and a strong local network
