Description:
Architect and develop mission-critical software for a next-generation automated oligo synthesizer, enabling precise control of mechanical, fluidic, and electrical systems. You’ll own the full-stack software infrastructure, from low-level hardware communication (USB/SPI/serial) and embedded firmware integration to GUI design, data analysis tools, and database management — ensuring seamless operation for end-user scientists.
Responsibilities:
Own the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for instrument control software: design, implement, debug, test, and deploy across Java/Python/C++ codebases.
Modernize and refactor legacy systems while ensuring backward compatibility with low level software + embedded firmware (custom PCB controller) and hardware messaging protocols.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, scientists, and IT to translate user feedback into scalable software improvements (UI/UX, performance, reliability).
Develop data analysis pipelines (Python scripts, databases) and real-time monitoring tools for high-speed acquisition and process optimization.
Act as SME for software architecture: document APIs, mentor junior engineers, and align technical decisions with long-term product roadmaps.
Onsite Requirement: This is a fully onsite role due to the hands-on nature of instrument control, hardware integration, and close collaboration with engineering and scientific teams.
Qualifications:
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Technical Non-Negotiables: 6–8 years in full-stack software development for instrumentation/robotics/embedded systems.
Expertise in:
Java: core codebase, multi-threaded code and GUI desktop applications (JavaFX or Swing).
Java, Maven, NetBeans IDE and Mercurial.
Python: scripting, data analysis tools.
Low-level comms protocols: USB, Serial, SPI, I2C.
Microcontrollers/embedded firmware (hands-on debugging).

The Manager, Operations will play a central role in driving the effectiveness of our organization, working directly under the supervision and guidance of the CFO. The Terrestrial Software team is building the foundation for an automated rocket factory and integrated launch platform. Their mission is to automate and streamline workflows across the entire lifecycle of Terran R, from raw material intake to launch operations and eventually manufacturing on Mars. Today, that means partnering directly with teams across design, materials, manufacturing, and test and launch to design, implement, and deploy end user enterprise-wide applications, industrial automation, data analytics infrastructure, and next-generation AI to solve real problems and accelerate progress. Long term, the team is laying the groundwork for a modular, scalable software platform that can power highly autonomous operations on Earth and beyond. This is a team for builders and thinkers who thrive on cross-functional impact and want to shape the digital backbone of our future in space.
About the Role:
Designs and maintains the controller processes that run on safety-critical hardware, focusing on fast, deterministic binaries, memory-based IPC, and integration with field and TCP-based protocols.

About this role
We’re looking for someone with an endless drive for improvement, a solutions oriented mindset, an ability to deliver high-quality accounting on tight deadlines and the flexibility to adapt to quickly changing needs while being highly detail-oriented. The candidate should be a strong analytical thinker, have a superb understanding of U.S. GAAP and Uniform Guidance, be knowledgeable about best practices and be an excellent communicator. For this role we are searching for candidates with 7 - 10 years of experience, preferably within the non-profit sector.

Job Description:
As Director Finance, you will own all accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting processes while contributing to the operational maturity of a high-growth, private equity-backed business. You will drive timely financial operations, implement scalable systems, and support audits and compliance. In addition, you will also be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day business operations of the organization including but not limited to employee management/administration and contract administration. You will also be supportive in the growth functions of the business, including recruiting support (candidate interviews, pipeline tracking, offer conversations) and contract capture activity (teaming agreement negotiations, pipeline tracking, relationship management).
This business provides operational support to the United States Intelligence Community. As Director of Finance, you will serve as a crucial operator and thought partner within the business both as a leader for its employees, as well as a representative of Cedar Solutions Group. We are looking for someone who is excited to own the numbers, excel in an entrepreneurial environment supported by proven playbooks, and who has a can-do attitude to truly operate a growing business.
This role will report to the Group Controller and CEO of M1 Technology and be based in the D.C. or Northern Virginia area.
