AI Solution Architect
At Appian, we support our federal customer’s mission by delivering solutions using our cloud-based platform technology. Appian’s Customer Success organization works closely with our federal customers, advising and supporting them on how to architect and deliver Appian based-solutions. To support this goal, Appian Customer Success, is looking for an Solution Architect to help us to grow our federal business and work closely with customers to design integrated solutions and make compelling offers.
As a Solution Architect, you will be a key technical leader within Appian’s Customer Success team as well as a trusted technical advisor to Appian’s clients. In this role, you will define leading, integrated solutions that use Appian’s platform technology to support our customers unique mission areas. You will maintain an awareness of market forces and trends, lead the design and development of innovations and offerings that address customers demands and continue to position as a leader. You will consult and advise our customers on their programs and projects, driving quality and innovation. The ideal candidate will combine excellent technical, product and business skills to make our customers and partners successful. And have experience working with BPM and/or business systems.
To be successful in this role, you will:
Advise customers on the technical design, architecture and implementation of Appian solutions on a customer’s private cloud or on-premise hosting solution, and/or integrating Appian government cloud offerings with the customer’s infrastructure
Support the sales cycle through the creation of high-value, differentiated solutions, based on Appian’s technology, that integrates and defines program and project management disciplines with a compelling technical solution and delivery roadmap
Present and vet integrated solutions and complex technical concepts and designs to our customers and other audiences
Support customers on the configuration, testing, deployment and operations of Appian applications, following agile delivery methodologies and Appian best practices
Work with clients on all aspects of their program to drive technical success and efficiency, including advising of development practice, program management and governance and delivery automation (version control, configuration management, and other DevSecOps and Infrastructure Automation practices)
Lead the definition and development of Appian Customer Success innovations and offerings in order to support leading Appian delivery capabilities, and bring together emerging requirements and practices from our customers and industry
Collect and review technical challenges with a team of architects and distill into common best practices and common solutions
Support the development and review of whitepapers and pre-sales solutioning and proposals
Advise federal customers on the design and integration of AI and generative AI capabilities, including large language models (LLMs), intelligent automation, and machine learning, into Appian-based solutions, ensuring alignment with mission objectives, responsible AI principles.
Lead the definition of enterprise data strategies and architectures for federal customers, including data ingestion, storage, integration, and analytics frameworks that enable scalable, mission-driven data platforms on cloud environments.
Establish and operationalize data governance frameworks for federal programs, including data quality standards, lineage, metadata management, access controls, and stewardship models that ensure data is accurate, compliant, and audit-ready in support of agency oversight requirements
Support the development of AI governance structures for federal customers, including model risk management, explainability standards, bias mitigation protocols, and continuous monitoring practices aligned with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and agency-specific AI use case inventory requirements
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
At least 5 years of experience advising customers on design and implementation of government cloud computing platforms, and at least 10 years of multi-tier application design and architecture
Experience with architecting secure cloud based hosting solutions for federal customers using Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and/or Microsoft Azure. Leadership experience designing, architecting or delivering one or more enterprise-level cloud environments (e.g. C2S, JWICS, GovCloud, etc.)
Experience authoring federal proposals and whitepaper is required
In depth experience, managing federal programs and projects and leading IT delivery using agile frameworks, tooling and methodologies, including Scrum and SAFe
Experience accelerating IT solution under the federal government’s Risk Management Framework is preferred
Experience with designing and implementing DevSecOps pipelines and Infrastructure Automation frameworks, using toolsets like Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack, Cucumber, JMeter, and Fitnesse, preferred
Willingness to travel; 10-15% to support customer engagements including SCIF’s

Two Six Technologies is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a small engineering team to be a hands-on-keyboard contributor to the deployment and operation of our public-facing and customer-facing systems in support of national security missions.
You will be responsible for deploying, securing, and monitoring our production, test, and development environments. Our environments are in Digital Ocean and AWS, with most of our applications running in Docker containers. You are a great fit if you are experienced with Ansible, Terraform, and/or other similar tools to manage and automate these types of deployments. Our primary datastore is PostgreSQL, and we also support applications that use MySQL and Elastic.
Most of your day-to-day will be focused on engineering activities and collaborating with our technical team members on system designs and strategic technical decisions. We currently have a deployment window that requires some evening work once a week, and occasional events outside of regular business hours. We prioritize system stability and are very successful in minimizing support calls.
This role is on-site in Rosslyn, VA. This position requires an active TS clearance.
Our teams are doing innovative development across a wide range of technologies, including building large, distributed computing platforms that process huge quantities of data each day, leveraging large language models (LLMs) and generative AI to enrich and improve analysis of that data, and we are supporting important missions of our customers. We are seeking a Data Product Manager for Government Systems to join our Data Product & Operations team. In this role you will take ownership of mapping, prioritizing and tracking the integration of government data systems into Govini’s Ark platform. Working with our go-to-market teams including Sales, Implementation Engineers, and Engagement Managers, you’ll learn about and become an expert of key government data systems that are critical to our customers day-to-day workflows. You will synthesize and convey the nuances and uses of each system to our Product team which will help inform workflow development within Ark.
These data systems will inform Govini’s data integration plan, which you will develop, document, and maintain. You will also work with both the engineering and security accreditations teams to develop technical implementation plans for each data system.

ROLE SUMMARY
As an Engineer on the Generative & Agentic AI team, you will play a hands-on role in building, deploying, and operating AI capabilities that power Babel Street’s intelligence applications. You will work closely with senior AI leaders, product teams, and engineers to implement generative and agentic AI solutions that support investigative, analytical, and operational workflows across the platform.
This is an execution-focused role for an engineer with strong foundations in machine learning and generative AI who is excited to work on real-world, mission-driven applications. You will contribute directly to LLM and SLM pipelines, retrieval and grounding systems, agent workflows, and AI-enabled features—while learning how to deliver AI that is safe, reliable, cost-efficient, and production-ready.
This is a hybrid role to be based out of either our Reston, VA/Washington DC office or our Somerville MA office.
ROLE FOCUS
This role spans three practical execution areas:
Generative AI & Model Development
You will help implement and operate LLM- and SLM-based systems, contributing to prompt development, fine-tuning, evaluation, and inference optimization. You will support retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, embeddings, and grounding techniques to ensure AI outputs are accurate, explainable, and aligned with intelligence use cases.
Agentic AI & Workflow Automation
You will assist in building and integrating agent-based workflows that automate analytical tasks, connect platform services, and support intelligence applications. This includes implementing agent logic, tool-use patterns, and basic orchestration under the guidance of senior engineers.
AI Engineering & Production Delivery
You will help productionize AI capabilities using modern AI SDLC tools and practices, contributing to evaluation, testing, telemetry, and guardrails that reduce hallucinations and ensure safe behavior. You will work within established governance frameworks to ensure AI features are measurable, reliable, and cost-aware.
