• Responsible for engineering design, and developing vehicle exterior systems including bumpers, fascia, grilles, brackets, exterior trim, bumper beams, hitches and structural reinforcements.
• Develop Scout Bumper/Fascia Standards and Requirements to ensure a robust product. Ensure seamless integration into production processes while meeting all required program milestones and deliverables.
• Participate in and/or lead development of Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages, technical reviews, and supplier selection.
• Lead Product Development Team(s) to collaborate cross functionally across Scout internal functions, and suppliers to set design direction, and lead development, packaging, and execution of unique Scout components to develop creative and feasible designs that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a Product Quality Engineer, you will work inside & outside the organization to define, develop, and execute processes that deliver high quality aerospace structures (composites and metallic). This role focuses on collaborating and driving early engagement with our design team, and manufacturing team, to meet our quality requirements and to evaluate manufacturing performance. The right person for this role has knowledge of, aerospace quality standards, supply chain quality, inspection methods, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. WHAT YOU'LL DO

Anduril’s Manufacturing team is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team to support AeroStructures branch in North Carolina. This Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge aerostructure assemblies, starting from the piece part manufacturing. This role encompasses everything in the manufacturing value-chain, including, but not limited to, MBOM Management, Work Instruction creation, Design for Manufacturability work, work cell optimization, tool design & selection, process creation & optimization, vendor sourcing & interaction, quality planning, and work documentation associated with the composite and metallic structures.

The right person for this role can demonstrate experience in composite part manufacturing and overall airframe assembly. This person will also demonstrate the ability to work across multiple functions (Manufacturing Operations, Airframe Design, Quality, Leadership, Supply Chain, etc) to achieve a successful manufacturing approach, flow, and build.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Work with technicians and other engineers hands-on, building composite parts and tooling in close conjunction with design engineering release
• Write manufacturing documentation, such as work instructions, MBOMs, quality plans, inspection requirements, non-conformances, while also completing said work instructions, quality plans, and inspections alongside a team of technicians and inspectors
• Work as a conduit between the engineering technical data packages and the technicians to ensure composite hardware and tooling are manufactured as designed/analyzed

Anduril’s Manufacturing team is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to join our Composites Manufacturing team in North Carolina. This team engineers the manufacturing solution to turn designs into prototypes rapidly, and subsequently transitions composites manufacturing projects from development into full-rate production. In this role, you will use industrial engineering tools and skills to increase efficiency and quality of each manufacturing line in concert with its production plan. You will leverage a data-driven approach to design and improve production lines and manufacturing processes. Since manufacturing is the outcome that all other business functions have in common, you will collaborate widely across the organization with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Planning, Production, Facilities, and others.

The right person for this role will demonstrate holistic ownership in solving operational challenges with creative solutions in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment. As a Senior level position, you will use your Industrial Engineering skills and expertise to triage and prioritize your projects, you will build plans to reach outcomes, and you will manage and recover your project execution with autonomy and independence while using proper judgement to escalate effectively when required.

• Ensure designs comply with company requirements and applicable industry standards, including GD&T and design-for-manufacturability principles
• Serve as a technical contributor in design, manufacturing, and test reviews by evaluating designs, identifying risks, and recommending corrective actions
• Execute assigned tasks in alignment with approved budgets and project schedules
• Review customer requirements and contribute to technical proposals, cost estimates, test plans, process qualification documents, bills of materials, schedules, and engineering reports as needed
• Proactively identify and resolve technical issues affecting current products or new development efforts
• Maintain clear, timely communication with peers and leadership regarding technical progress, challenges, and potential risks
• Assist with testing and validation activities for both new and existing products, with oversight from senior engineering staff
• Follow established safety practices and actively support continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental initiatives
• Support occasional domestic and international travel (typically once per quarter)
• Be available for extended or off-hour work during peak project phases when required

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in mechanical design within a product development and manufacturing environment

Technical Skills and Competencies

• Hands-on experience designing rotating machinery such as motors, generators, or similar systems
• Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including proper application of GD&T
• Sound engineering judgment across multiple mechanical disciplines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and customers
• Well-developed organizational, documentation, and reporting skills
• Proficiency in developing 3D CAD models and 2D drawings
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
• Familiarity with common shop and inspection tools, including measurement equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing bearing systems and wound components
• Knowledge of rotor dynamics principles
• Familiarity with oil and air cooling approaches for rotating equipment
• Exposure to aerospace standards such as DO-160, ARP4754A, and ARP4761
• Experience using CATIA

Salary Range:$85,000-90,000
