Your Role:
Tenable is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our VM Platform team. Our team sits at the center of our Tenable One architecture; we ingest massive volumes of assets and find data from collection teams, process it to calculate the "state of the world" for our customers, and feed it to downstream search and reporting products.
We are not just building web apps; we are solving a complex Big Data problem. You will build and maintain the high-throughput, event-driven pipelines responsible for processing the history of assets and vulnerabilities. You will move beyond simple CRUD operations to design systems that handle massive scale, ensuring that when we say an asset is vulnerable (or patched), that data is accurate and available in real-time.

The approximate base salary range for this position is $128,445 - $167,497. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, and equity.

Position Overview
We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to serve as a senior individual contributor—equivalent to a Staff or Principal Data Engineer—with full ownership of analytics data architecture and engineering standards. This hands‑on technical leadership role is part of a high‑impact analytics team responsible for enabling data‑driven decision‑making across satellite network planning, capacity and demand forecasting, network operations, and performance analytics.
The Lead Data Engineer will design, build, and operate scalable, production‑grade data pipelines and analytical infrastructure to ensure high‑quality; reliable data is consistently available across global planning and operational workflows. This role defines how operational, network, and business data is ingested, modeled, governed, and consumed—transforming complex, heterogeneous datasets into trusted, decision‑ready analytics assets.
While this position does not include people management, it carries significant technical ownership and influence. JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Field Service Engineer – RUPS Systems will specialize in rotary UPS power system distribution builds, mechanical and generator integration, system integration, start-ups, and preventative maintenance programs. This role requires advanced technical expertise, mechanical aptitude, leadership skills, and hands-on field experience with both electrical control systems and rotating equipment such as generators and flywheels. Strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to delivering high-performance power solutions in data centers, hospitals, industrial facilities, and utility-scale environments are essential.
This is not a typical UPS engineer or technician role. In fact, a strong background in traditional static UPS systems may not be advantageous for this position. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with mechanical systems, generators, and rotary equipment, and be comfortable commissioning complex power systems in the field. You will act as the front-line expert for bringing large-scale RUPS systems online, resolving technical issues, and training others. This role will also provide technical software and hardware troubleshooting support to the IEM customer base on-site throughout North America while performing start-ups, retrofits, or preventative maintenance. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional IEM teams to integrate current and new technologies, commission complex generator and RUPS systems, optimize existing power infrastructure, and ensure seamless operation across our power products as defined by the customer's RUPS design and sequence of operations (SOO). This role will serve as the point of contact for all field service personnel related to RUPS startup, generator support, preventative maintenance, 24-hour emergency response, and remote technical assistance.
