About the Team

     The Billing Engineering team is responsible for managing a broad and complex range of functions comprising 70 services. As DigitalOcean continues its rapid growth and moves upmarket, the demands on the billing platform have significantly increased. This team will focus on operational enablement for the business and our customers, allowing our existing billing platform engineering teams to concentrate on platform resiliency and building customer-facing features.

The Opportunity

     We are seeking highly motivated and skilled engineers in Hyderabad. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our billing platform, providing technical support, managing billing operations, and driving efficiency through automation. What You’ll Do:

• Triage and resolve escalated billing support tickets, including invoicing discrepancies, collections issues (payments/dunning), and taxation inquiries. Serve as the first line of support for incoming bug reports.
• Take ownership of core billing platform operations, including facilitating credits, discounts, promotions, and commitment deals; working with the Tax team on taxation regions; managing SaaS Marketplace vendor ledgers; coordinating refunds and write-offs with the Revenue Accounting team; and supporting month-close compliance reporting.

Senior Systems Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support and enhance the infrastructure that underpins our global business operations. This role involves maintaining and improving enterprise-level systems, including data center operations, hardware platforms, virtualization, backups and recovery, operating systems, networking, and security.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in enterprise infrastructure, be self-driven, and capable of independently leading projects from concept to completion. Sr. Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator would report to the Manager of Systems Engineering performing functions related to the day-to-day operations of the infrastructure supporting the business including data center operations, hardware, operating systems, user administration, virtualization, and backups and recovery of the environment. Opportunity Overview:

The Lead DevOps Engineer will work closely with Cohere engineers to plan, deploy, and support high-availability solutions. The successful candidate will implement and manage tools supporting Cohere’s engineering teams and infrastructure, coach junior engineers on DevOps best practices and tools. We’re looking for talented and motivated engineers to build core components and services, as well as to contribute to evolving the architecture. We’re a small team working on a very large, modern system with a user base of millions, so you’ll get to work on a cutting-edge product and service on a large scale. We’re responsible for building and maintaining several of the services powering the various Lookout applications. We build services in Ruby & Scala, are hosted on AWS and firmly believe in using the cloud to our advantage.

What you’ll do:

• You will be part of a dynamic and technically diverse group of engineers, where you will get to contribute, influence, learn and grow top notch technical skill sets, while building key features for our customers.
• Implement large scale, low latency microservices, including discovering and solving complex issues at scale.
• We believe in, and practice, end to end service ownership, so you will fully participate in the ownership of your services and components, including on-call duties.
• Quality is the forefront of all we do, so you will assist with improving all forms of automated testing (unit, integration, functional etc).
• Help troubleshoot, analyze and root cause issues in the platform.
• You will work on microservices built with Golang, Scala, Java and Ruby, hosted in AWS.

What we’re looking for: 

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field/degree with at least  3-5 years of  work experience.
• Professional programming experience with Golang, Python, Scala, Java and/or Ruby+Rails.
• Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals and algorithms.
• Experience with event streaming frameworks, technologies, patterns and architectures (particularly Kafka or similar)
• Experience with implementing secure, scalable API services
• Experience with transactional databases and data modeling (Postgres, MySQL, DynamoDB or equivalent)
• Cloud development experience (especially AWS).
• A pragmatic and curious problem-solver. You thrive on breaking down complex challenges, asking insightful questions to understand the "why," and delivering effective, practical solutions.
• A high-ownership collaborator with keen attention to detail. You take full accountability for your work, communicate clearly with your team, and are obsessed with shipping high-quality, well-crafted code.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with serverless architectures on AWS, GCP.
• Experience with Kubernetes, container technology (Docker, ECS, EKS).
• Experience with functional programming in TypeLevel Scala (cats-effect, ZIO, FS2, etc).
• Experience with ML/LLMs (prompt engineering, RAG, classification, NLP, fine tuning etc) is a huge plus.
• Experience with AI development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Github Copilot, etc.
