Equity Accounting

 Professional would be required to manage the stock-based compensation accounting, equity schedules, and related quarterly and annual financial reporting. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting under U.S. GAAP, maintain compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements, and partner closely with the HR and Legal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain stock-based compensation schedules, including option grants, RSUs, ESPP, and performance awards.
• Ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting for all equity-related transactions in accordance with ASC 718 (Compensation – Stock Compensation).
• Manage and reconcile the equity roll-forward, including tracking of shares outstanding, exercises, cancellations, and forfeitures.
• Work with external platforms to maintain integrity of equity
• Partner with HR and Legal teams to validate grant data and ensure completeness and accuracy of equity
• Calculate and record monthly/quarterly journal entries, including SBC
• Ensure compliance with internal controls

Qualifications:

• MBA Finance / CPA (preferred)
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably with exposure to equity or compensation
• Strong hold in MS Excel
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work cross-functionally and meet tight reporting deadlines

You are expected to identify gaps in how data works today, define how it should work and build the systems and standards to get there. 

This is a high-autonomy, hands-on role. You will write SQL, validate data, define tracking, and enforce standards — while also shaping how product data evolves over time.

We also expect you to leverage AI as a force multiplier — improving speed, automation, and self-serve analytics while maintaining strong governance and data integrity.

What would you do if hired?

• Own product data definitions, event taxonomy, and tracking standards across the Product organization
• Ensure product usage data is correctly instrumented, validated, and consistently implemented
• Define and enforce data governance practices to maintain a single source of truth
• Enable Product Managers to measure success by providing clear frameworks, standards, and guardrails for metrics and tracking
• Ensure product OKRs and KPIs are measurable, consistently defined, and continuously monitored
• Build and maintain reliable datasets, reports, and dashboards for ongoing product performance tracking
• Write and validate SQL to troubleshoot discrepancies, verify data correctness, and support product decision-making
• Act as the point of accountability for product data quality, definitions, and trust
• Partner with the Data Engineering team to identify gaps in Snowflake and ensure product data is modeled correctly (without owning pipelines)
• Own and maintain product analytics tooling (e.g., Pendo), ensuring it supports consistent tracking and data access
• Define scalable processes for instrumentation, validation, and data change management
• Identify systemic issues in data quality or tracking and drive long-term fixes, not one-off patches
• Proactively define and execute a roadmap to improve product data maturity across the organization

Who are we looking for?

Education and Experience

• 8+ years of experience in B2B SaaS across Product Analytics, Product Operations, Data Engineering, or similar roles
• Demonstrated experience designing event taxonomies, tracking plans, and metric definitions
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, validation, and data reasoning in modern warehouses (Snowflake preferred)
• Hands-on experience with product analytics tools (e.g., Pendo, Amplitude, Mixpanel)
• Experience building or improving data quality frameworks, validation processes, and documentation
• Experience using AI tools to improve data workflows, with strong judgment around validation and correctness
• Experience influencing Product and Engineering teams without formal authority

GENERAL FUNCTION

Momentum’s Analytics team is looking for a Sr. Analyst, Data Analytics to join our growing Risk Group. Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager of Analytics, the Sr. Analyst, Data Analytics will be the subject matter data expert providing the business with insights, strategies, and solutions through a consultative approach to bring success to our business and our customers.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leverage data expertise to analyze a wide spectrum of data to provide insights and solutions to the business.
• Identify and improve inefficiencies or issues in current data processes and reports with a “there’s always room for improvement” mindset.
• Conceive, design & develop purpose focused reports and dashboards that drive value and meets business needs
• Manipulate large data sets from multiple sources to provide business metric reporting
• Communicate concise and actionable business strategies from vast amounts of data to senior management.
• Continuously broaden knowledge of different business verticals and their functions and how they utilize data
• Lead the regular touchpoint with business stakeholders to provide insights beyond what is requested and/or provide data solutions to improve their workflow
• Conduct advanced statistical and financial analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and business opportunities.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Decision Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Finance, or Economics

EXPERIENCE

• 4 years of experience in reporting, analysis and strategy development in the financial services industry.
• Proven experience using SQL, R, Python, or similar data mining and analytics applications.
• Experience with Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft SSRS or other tools.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, macros, and data analysis tools
• Strong attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy in data analysis and reporting.

The Role
