Job Description
As a Staff Research Scientist on the Enterprise Agents team, you will be responsible for keeping up with the latest developments in Agent Context, Information Retrieval, Knowledge Assistants, RAG, Embeddings, and advancing the scientific frontier by creating new techniques that go beyond the state of the art. You will work together on a collaborative team of researchers and engineers with diverse backgrounds and technical training. And most importantly, you will love our customers: our goal is to make our customers successful in applying state-of-the-art LLMs and AI systems, and we encode our scientific expertise into our products to make that possible.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for regular preventative maintenance of equipment, robotics, facilities, and any other requested work needed by the team. This includes maximizing uptime through regular operation and observation of equipment and robotic work cells, including annotation of performance and metric collection. You will handle implementation of hardware change requests and maintenance requests, installation and assembly of new equipment, and support software researchers by manually resetting items in robotic work cells, resetting the safety system, and resolving intervention requests. Additionally, you will maintain documentation of work performed and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues to resolve malfunctioning equipment.

Help the Maintenance Supervisor lead and oversee the maintenance operations of robotic systems, including efficient maintenance processes, KPI tracking systems, and stakeholder reporting frameworks to ensure optimal performance of automated systems. This role sits on the Manufacturing Design Engineering group and owns the reliability, uptime, and continuous improvement of advanced powertrain manufacturing equipment in a high-volume production environment. You'll join the team that best matches your skills: HVPS, EPS, or Automation Controls.
You’ll be hands-on, deeply technical, and accountable for solving complex manufacturing problems—often under real production pressure. The ideal candidate brings strong engineering judgment, a structured problem-solving mindset, and a bias for action. Zipline is looking for a Fleet Commander (RPIC) to join our Flight Operations team as we expand our operations at our newest Fleet Command facility in South San Francisco. This position is based at our Fleet Command facility in South San Francisco, CA and will play a key role in the development and success of our rapidly growing operations in the United States.
The successful candidate will be expected to meet and maintain the qualification requirements to act as Fleet Commander (RPIC) for Ziplines’s commercial drone delivery service. In this role, the Fleet Commander is responsible for safely operating a large fleet of highly autonomous aircraft beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS), all while maintaining tight adherence to established policies, procedures, and FAA-associated regulations.
Note: Duties and responsibilities will continue to evolve as operations expand and new company goals emerge. The following reflects the most current duties and responsibilities for the Fleet Commander position.
Note: For continued employment in this position, you must successfully complete Zipline’s approved flight training program and receive a Zipline Fleet Commander (RPIC) qualification. The initial training course takes approximately 2 weeks and is conducted at our training facility near Charlotte, North Carolina. You will be compensated for attending this training and travel expenses will be covered in accordance with Zipline’s travel policy.

The compensation range for this role is $39.50 - $48/ hour.
