Job Summary 

As the Hardware System Test Engineering Manager, you will lead the Hardware System Test Team responsible for developing manufacturing test solutions for High Performance Modules (HPM), Server Blades, and Multi-node racks as part of the production assembly process. You will drive the creation of robust test executive software that sequences tests and integrates test content from multiple internal and external sources. You will guide the development of manufacturing test content and test fixtures informed by a deep understanding of silicon, board, and system design. Working cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, and software teams, you will ensure the right tools and functionality exist to efficiently validate product quality at scale. 

The Team 

The Product Test and Diagnosis team is responsible for identifying and diagnosing hardware defects introduced during the manufacturing process. The team defines, develops, and executes an end-to-end test strategy spanning silicon, board-level assemblies, server blades, and rack-scale systems. Testing is performed across the full product lifecycle, including manufacturing, and deployed field environments. 

Product Test and Diagnosis is part of the Manufacturing Operations organisation, which also comprises Manufacturing Technology, Supply Chain, and Quality teams. The group operates as a global team, with engineers based in the UK (Bristol and Cambridge), Taiwan, India, and the United States. 

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of hardware and software test engineers delivering manufacturing test solutions for complex compute systems. 

• Define the manufacturing test strategy and roadmap for High Performance Modules, Server Blades, and Multi-node racks. 

• Own delivery of test executive software used in both manufacturing and lab environments to orchestrate test sequencing, logging, results aggregation, and integration of test content from diverse sources. 

• Partner with internal software, firmware, and platform teams to ensure required hooks, diagnostics, telemetry, and APIs exist to enable effective manufacturing test. 

• Establish best practices for test coverage, traceability, release management, and configuration control of test software and content. 

• Implement metrics and dashboards for manufacturing test (yield, escapes, false fails, coverage, cycle time) and lead continuous improvement initiatives. 

• Drive root-cause analysis of manufacturing failures and field returns, coordinating corrective actions across design, validation, and manufacturing engineering. 

• Own the delivery of manufacturing test fixtures for High Performance Modules and Server Blades, including defining requirements, managing external subcontractors, and ensuring fixtures meet quality, cost, schedule, and production readiness needs. 

• Ensure test solutions are scalable, maintainable, and production-ready, including documentation, training, and support processes for factory deployment. 

• Support supplier/contract manufacturing engagements as needed, including test station readiness, deployment qualification, and ongoing production support. 

Candidate Profile  
 

Essential: 

• Experience developing manufacturing test solutions for high-performance servers, accelerators (GPU-class), or comparable large scale compute hardware. 

• Demonstrated people leadership experience managing a mixed hardware/software engineering team (hiring, coaching, performance management, and team development). 

• Deep technical understanding across silicon, board, and system design sufficient to define effective manufacturing test coverage and guide debug/root-cause analysis. 

• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience driving requirements and delivery with internal software/firmware/platform teams to enable testability. 

• Hands-on experience using Linux, OpenBMC, and vendor specific test tools, diagnostics, and system-level utilities to test hardware in lab and manufacturing environments. 

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar. 

Desirable: 

• Familiarity with rack-scale/multi-node systems, high-speed interconnects, and production qualification of complex assemblies. 

• Experience improving manufacturing KPIs (yield, test time, false fail reduction) through data-driven process and test optimization. 

• Knowledge of open-source tools commonly used for manufacturing test

The Role: 

We are expanding and looking for an experienced DFT engineers to join the Silicon team. As a part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on next-generation AI designs targeted for data centers applications. 

Responsibilities: 

• Keep up with the latest industry trends in DFT domain and help adopt the latest DFT techniques and methodologies 

• Work closely with design, verification, physical design and product engineering teams to integrate DFT requirements into the overall design process 

• Define and implement DFT architecture and features for next-generation AI designs and support their verification effort 

• Develop efficient DFT flows and methodology compatible with silicon design flows 

• Work with 3rd party IPs to integrate the provided design into the DFT infrastructure 

• Generate structural test vectors, analyze and improve test coverage 

• Work with the product and test engineering teams to ensure successful silicon bring-up and help identify any silicon failures to enhance yield learning and improvement 

Requirements: 

• Very good understanding of DFT components like JTAG (IEEE 1149.x), IJTAG (IEEE P1687), Core Test (IEEE P1500), SSN (Streaming Scan Network), Test Compression, OCC etc. 

• Experience on developing DFT specifications and driving the implementation of the DFT features 

• Experience in MBIST and BISR implementation and verification is desired 

• Solid understanding of design verification methodologies for validating the DFT features using simulation in pre-silicon designs 

• Exposure to STA constraints development and analysis for DFT modes and SDF simulations would be a plus 

• Experience in Scan based testing and industry standard ATPG tools 

• Knowledge of ATPG pattern verification and gate-level simulation flows using Synopsys VCS and Verdi or other EDA tools 

• Very good knowledge of Digital Integrated Circuits and Systems 

• Hands-on experience with Verilog RTL coding and familiarity with System Verilog   

• Strong scripting and debugging skills using programming languages like Python, TCL, Perl, Shell etc.

The Verification team sits within the Silicon Design organisation. We ensure that the RTL delivered by Logical Design and used by Physical Design team implements Graphcore’s architectural needs and meets the company's quality standards.  As a Director of Silicon Verification, you will help lead this multi-site organisation, define verification strategies across multiple silicon programs, and drive best in class execution to ensure high-quality, high-performance silicon delivery. 

Role Summary 

We are seeking a proven leader to help direct Graphcore’s verification strategy and methodologies. This role sets direction for the verification lifecycle including - planning, infrastructure, execution, coverage closure, debug strategy and sign-off for Graphcore’s complex, high performance AI accelerators. 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Verification the Director will partner closely with other teams such as Architecture, Logical Design, Physical Design, DFT, Systems as well as Program Management teams to ensure accurate implementation, accelerated debug cycles, high coverage confidence and predictable silicon delivery. 

 
Responsibilities 

 Leadership & Strategy 

• Define the long-term vision, roadmap and strategy for silicon functional verification across all Graphcore silicon programs. 

• Build, lead, and develop a high performing, globally distributed verification organisation. 

• Establish scalable methodologies, leading edge verification techniques, and best practice processes. 

• Drive automation, tooling and infrastructure evolution to improve productivity and verification quality. 

• Evaluate emerging tools and technologies and drive adoption to deliver competitive advantage. 

 Technical Ownership 

• Own verification planning, execution and sign off for all RTL blocks and top-level SoCs. 

• Oversee definition of test plans including functional coverage targets. Drive close through prioritisation of test content and coverage signoff. Iterate plans to close verification gaps. 

• Direct debugging strategies, triage processes and root-cause analysis workflows to enhance team productivity. 
  
  
• Steer integration of verification technologies including formal methods, simulation acceleration/emulation and system level validation. 

Cross Functional Collaboration 

• Ensure high quality feedback to other functions within the Silicon Team.  

• Partner with Architecture to influence and refine specifications for verifiability and risk reduction. 

• Collaborate with Logical Design to align on design intent, architectural corner cases and test scenarios. 

• Work closely with Physical Design and DFT teams to ensure coherent verification of interfaces, timing assumptions and test structures. 

• Lead post-silicon debug alignment where needed, ensuring learning cycles feed back into RTL and verification methodology. 

 
Execution & Delivery 

• Deliver verification sign off on schedule across multiple parallel projects. 

• Guide program risk management, resource planning, milestone creation, and verification budgeting. 

• Drive consistent metrics-based verification management (structural and functional coverage, bug funnels, simulation performance, CI health, etc.). 

• Provide scheduled reports into program management on progress with associated metrics based collaterol. 

Essential Skills 

• Demonstrated ability to lead, scale and inspire high performing verification teams. 

• Extensive verification leadership experience within CPU, GPU, ASIC or SoC environments. 

• Deep understanding of modern verification methodologies, flows, and infrastructure. 

• Strong capability in SystemVerilog, Python, C++ and Linux-based workflows. 

• Expertise in diagnosing complex logic issues across RTL, testbench and system level domains.

Job Summary  

Reporting to a Team Lead in the frameworks team you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, optimising, maintaining and supporting the software required to ensure the machine learning accelerators that Graphcore develop, enjoy first-class support in state-of-the-art machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and Triton.  

This role sees you joining our PyTorch team, where you will be part of a SCRUM team working on delivering new features, optimise performance, reviewing code changes, writing technical documentation, working with upstream communities, maintaining the code base and supporting users.  

In this role you will closely collaborate with other engineers, both within the PyTorch team as well as other engineering teams. You help the team coordinate and deliver complex, open-ended technical tasks. You are pro-active and an excellent communicator. You will develop deep expertise in the PyTorch project and will (in time) contribute to the team’s technical direction and processes. You understand the importance of managing code quality and code complexity and balancing this against the need to deliver business outcomes.

We build Graphcore products into large-scale AI solutions for our customers and the Cloud Platform Team is responsible for providing such systems to both internal users via private clouds and customers via our own public clouds.  Often the internal systems will be using and developing pre-release hardware and software, so it’s vital you are comfortable with unproven components. 

Responsibilities and Duties 
 

• Develop and operate high-performance ethernet infrastructure on our private clouds and support internal users in their use. You will turn end-user and product requirements into deployed services. 

• Help to build automation to collect and analyse metrics and other data from the network infrastructure to support clear identification and reporting of any issues.  Work with users to provide information of any product-related issues to Engineering and QA departments. 

• Work with our Datacentre Operations Engineers to maintain, tune and operate the fleet of AI systems at peak performance in our private clouds. 
• Work with external vendors of off-the-shelf switches, servers and storage solutions to integrate 3rd party products into our Cloud Reference Design, with a focus on network performance, automation and resilience. 

Skills and Experience (all required) 

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant subject. 
• Significant hands-on experience with 1 or more vendor’s high-end (100Gb/s+) ethernet switch solutions. 
• Experience managing on-premises or private-cloud environments.  
• Solid software engineering or IT experience with a proven track record of delivering technical output as an individual contributor. 
• Experience working in an AGILE and SCRUM framework, including understanding of priorities, risks, issues, impacts and constraints.  
• Strong proven Linux scripting ability (bash, python, awk, sed). 
• Strong proven Linux system administration (Ubuntu, RHEL and variants). 
• Experience with a version control system (preferably Git) and using it to manage system configuration or automation.

What you’ll be doing  

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Component Engineer to join our Manufacturing Operations team in the UK. In this role, you’ll work closely with our Manufacturing, Test, Quality and Supply Chain teams to support both new product introduction and volume manufacturing. You'll work with internal stakeholders, component suppliers and external contract manufacturers, managing the specification, selection and sourcing of components required to manufacture our products to the appropriate performance, reliability, quality and yield.  

The Team 

The role will be as part of the Manufacturing and Technology Process team at Graphcore. This team is part of the Operations group and has members in Bristol, Cambridge and Taiwan. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes at the wafer foundry, package assembly and PCBA subcontractors based in Taiwan.  

Responsibilities and Duties:  

• Support the selection, evaluation, and qualification of electronic and electro-mechanical components to meet agreed design and manufacturing requirements.
• Create and maintainapproved component lists and Bills of Material (BoM) revisions using the Arena BoM management, or other tools as required. 
• Using published data, ensurecomponents and products meet industry compliance requirements for quality, emissions, safety and the environment. 
• Survey the market to identifyor develop enabling component technologies for next generation products. 
• Assesscomponent supply risks, manage component obsolescence, and propose alternative sourcing solutions to ensure continuity of supply.

Job Summary  

Reporting to a Team Lead in the frameworks team you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, optimising, maintaining and supporting the software required to ensure the machine learning accelerators that Graphcore develop enjoy first-class support in state-of-the-art machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and Triton (note: “Triton” here refers to the Triton language/compiler and not the inference framework).  

This role sees you joining our Triton team, where you will be part of a SCRUM team working on delivering new features, optimise performance, reviewing code changes, writing technical documentation, working with upstream communities, maintaining the code base and supporting users.  

In this role you will closely collaborate with other engineers, both within the Triton team as well as other engineering teams. You help the team coordinate and deliver complex, open-ended technical tasks. You are pro-active and an excellent communicator. You will develop deep expertise in the Triton project and will (in time) contribute to the team’s technical direction and processes. You understand the importance of managing code quality and code complexity and balancing this against the need to deliver business outcomes.

Reporting to the Firmware Manager and working as a member of the Firmware Team, the Senior Staff Firmware Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of complex firmware systems across Graphcore’s next-generation hardware platforms. 

This role requires significant technical breadth and deep embedded systems expertise. The Team

The Firmware Team develops the low-level software responsible for the complete boot, configuration, and monitoring of Graphcore silicon and hardware platforms. Our work includes:

The Team

The Hardware test team are part of a larger Hardware team that consists of Signal Integrity (SI), Mechanical, layout, package and Hardware engineers. The Hardware team is responsible for delivering state of the art accelerators for machine learning and collaborates with the Silicon, Firmware and Production teams during product development.

Responsibilities and Duties 

A successful candidate will work within Hardware Engineering Team to define test methods, specify suitable test equipment and automate test systems. The team is currently responsible for testing, debugging and characterising high speed serial links, power supplies that can deliver high current and adapt to fast transients. We also debug and characteratize slower speed protocols like JTAG , I2C I3C and low level PCBA debug. 

Developing a deep understanding of Graphcore hardware and software products and how to operate them in a test environment is essential for this position.

You will be expected to understand relevant industry performance test standards, data analysis and presentation systems. Contributions are expected to span multiple areas and involve:

• Manual testing and debug of complex high speed SERDES which include PCIe Gen 6 and 112/224Gb PAM4 ethernet. This will require the use of high bandwidth oscilloscopes, BERTs and VNA’s, and the ability to understand complex IEEE standards.

We are looking for a Graduate Software Engineer to join a team pioneering the development of high-performance machine learning (ML) kernels for a new generation of AI hardware.

The Role:

We are developing the next generation of AI compute, a large-scale system-on-chip (SoC) designed to power future high-performance AI systems. As the SoC Validation Lead, you will be responsible for enabling pre-production software to run reliably on new silicon quickly and efficiently, before showing that the silicon meets the highest standards of quality, reliability and functionality, ready for production deployment.

You will lead a team delivering post-silicon validation across the full AI SoC, working across silicon, firmware, and platform levels. The role requires a deep technical understanding, strong hands-on debug experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams.

• Define and lead post-silicon validation strategy

Candidate Profile  

Essential:  

• Experience in manufacturing test of advanced electronic systems
• Thorough understanding of the fundamentals of electronics
• Thorough understanding of SMT / PCB manufacturing processes and failure mechanisms
• Thorough understanding of JTAG 1149 boundary scan test techniques
• Experience in the local and remote use of test instruments (Oscilloscopes, DMM's, Clock generators, SMU's, PSU's, etc.)
• Ability to work with internal teams such as software, silicon design and hardware design
• Ability to work with external board test partners
• Ability to solve problems in complex electronic systems
• Good communication skills 

Desirable 

• Several years of experience in a relevant environment 
• Appreciation of AOI and AXI process capability.
• Experience in programming and using board test systems including Bed -of-nails ICT systems
• Experience in the implementation of ISP and OBP solutions

Required:

• 3+ in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI (or similar), C#, XAML — and ideally additional experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM).
• Deep understanding of Windows application architecture, including interop between managed code (.NET) and native code.
• Proven track record of designing, building, and shipping production-quality desktop applications, with an emphasis on reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows (e.g. Microsoft UI Automation or similar), and a dedication to building accessible and inclusive software.
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, multi-threading or asynchronous programming (where relevant).
• Experience leading technical design, mentoring other engineers, conducting code reviews, and making architecture-level decisions.
• Strong communication skills; ability to articulate tradeoffs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive consensus.
• A user-centric mindset: focus on building polished, intuitive, and accessible experiences for end users.

Preferred / Bonus:

• Experience with writing automated tests for UI — unit tests, integration tests, UI automation tests; familiarity with relevant testing frameworks.
• Experience with performance optimization for desktop apps (memory usage, startup time, rendering performance, high-DPI support, responsiveness under load).
• Experience with localization/globalization, right-to-left UI support, internationalization, accessibility for multiple regions.
• Familiarity with telemetry, analytics, crash reporting, logging, and error monitoring in desktop applications.
• Previous experience in shaping CI/CD workflows, release pipelines, and deployment strategies for desktop applications.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of feature areas or modules and drive them long-term, including maintenance, refactoring, and technical debt management.
