What you'll do

As the Senior Software Engineer for Product Recommendations, you will be a key contributor in building the machine learning–powered systems that decide which products to show to whom and when across all channels powered by our platform. This hands-on backend role focuses on converting billions of behavioral events into personalized product recommendations that drive revenue for merchants. You will define technical direction, build, and operate services and data pipelines end to end, from data ingestion and feature generation to ranking models and APIs.

• Lead the design, architecture, and operation of backend services that power product recommendations across Klaviyo experiences (email, SMS, KAgent, onsite, etc.), upholding standards for reliability, performance, and clear APIs.
• Architect and maintain robust, large-scale data processing pipelines (e.g., using Apache Spark or similar frameworks) that transform raw events and catalog data into high-quality features and inputs for recommendation models, ensuring data quality and lineage.
• Collaborate closely with ML engineers and product stakeholders to strategically productionize recommendation models—defining high-level interfaces, robust feature contracts, and advanced deployment patterns for batch and/or real-time inference systems.
• Drive the development of ML/AI systems such as vector search that power recommendation, semantic search, and sophisticated agentic use cases.
• Implement and evolve data and service observability (metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards) to proactively ensure recommendations are correct, fast, and highly available for all customers.
• Contribute to and mentor others on shared data frameworks, libraries, and architectural patterns to accelerate the development of new recommendation use cases and iteration velocity across the team.
• Work with Product to break down projects into clear milestones, balancing the need for rapid experimentation with technical soundness and long-term maintainability.
• Lead data-driven decision making and A/B testing efforts—ensuring recommendation systems are instrumented with the right metrics, and independently interpreting results to guide future product and engineering iterations.
• Participate in on-call and incident response for the systems you own, driving major post-incident follow-ups that substantially improve the resilience and operability of our recommendation stack.
• Champion and drive the transformation of engineering workflows by integrating AI from the ground up—for example, using AI to accelerate development, automate complex tests, or build smarter monitoring and debugging tools.
• Share knowledge, mentor junior/mid-level engineers, and define best practices on working with large-scale data frameworks, distributed systems, and integrating ML into production systems.

Who you are

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with experience building and operating mission-critical backend services and systems in a production environment.
• Experience in backend and distributed systems at scale; you have a proven track record working on high-throughput, highly available services and are an skilled in optimizing for latency, reliability, and operability.
• Proficient in Python and open to working in other languages
• Comfortable with cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes); you manage infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines as a core part of your development process.
• Experience in data-driven decision making and A/B testing—you can define how to instrument experiments, read and interpret results, and ensure learnings are folded back into system design.
• Comfortable designing and querying data models in relational, analytical, and NoSQL datastores (e.g., Postgres, MySQL, data warehouses, Redis, vector databases).
• Feel at home with modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, alerting) and how to apply them to architect large-scale data and recommendation systems.
• Track record of owning multi-component projects end-to-end—from initial technical design and implementation through rollout, monitoring, and sustained iteration.
• Excellent technical collaborator and communicator: you can clearly articulate complex technical trade-offs to both technical peers and non-technical partners, and you work effectively to drive alignment across ML Engineers, Software Engineers, PMs, and other teams.
• You are a self-starter who has actively experimented with AI in work or personal projects and are excited to responsibly explore and define new AI tools and workflows to enhance team productivity and system intelligence.

Nice to have

• Previous experience working on product recommendation systems or adjacent ML-powered features (ranking, personalization, search, or similar).
• Experience with big data frameworks such as Apache Spark (or similar technologies like Flink, Beam, etc.) for architecting and building complex batch or streaming pipelines.
• Experience in AI/ML systems and products, such as integrating models into production systems, building features powered by ML, or contributing to the ML infrastructure.
• Experience training and iterating on machine learning models (e.g., for ranking, prediction, or personalization).

The Role

Fusion is a global electronics distributor building a modern data platform on top of a 20 year old legacy system. Palantir Foundry is a core part of that stack. We use it to deliver unified views of our customers, products, and operations, and we are leaning hard into AIP and agent driven workflows to compress delivery cycles. We are looking for a senior engineer who can work hands on in Foundry: building pipelines, ontology models, agents, and applications alongside our external Palantir consultants today, and progressively taking ownership as the platform matures.

This is an execution focused role with real autonomy. You will design and build solutions, work directly with business stakeholders, and have a voice in how the platform evolves.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain data pipelines: Design, build, and optimize batch and streaming pipelines in Foundry (Pipeline Builder with AI assist, Code Repositories, Code Workbook) that ingest data from internal and external source systems.
• Develop ontology models: Create and maintain ontology objects, relationships, link types, functions, and actions that represent business domains and power downstream applications, agents, and AIP workflows.
• Build AI native experiences with AIP: Use AIP Logic to compose AI driven functions, AIP Agent Studio to stand up domain agents, and AIP Threads or AIP Assist to embed conversational interfaces into Workshop apps. Use AIP Evals to validate prompt and agent behavior before promotion to production.
• Leverage AIP Analyst and FDE AI for delivery acceleration: Use AIP Analyst for ad hoc analytical work directly against the ontology, and lean on FDE AI and Solution Designer to scaffold ontology objects, pipelines, and starter applications. Refine the AI generated output, harden it for production, and bring it under proper change control.
• Deliver Foundry applications: Build and iterate on Workshop, Quiver, and Contour applications that give sales, operations, and leadership actionable views of the business, including embedded agentic actions and write back through Ontology Actions.
• Work alongside external consultants: Collaborate closely with our Palantir implementation partners to understand existing designs, validate data flows, and progressively take on more of the day to day Foundry work.
• Connect Foundry to the broader data platform: As the data modernization team builds out medallion layer domain stores and DBT based pipelines on Azure, help align Foundry’s ontology and ingestion paths so the platform can transition from legacy sources to the new architecture cleanly.
• Integrate with external systems: Build and maintain OSDK based integrations and APIs that connect Foundry to internal services and third party platforms.
• Engage stakeholders directly: Gather requirements from business teams, demo solutions, train end users, and incorporate feedback into iterations.
• Ensure data quality and observability: Implement validation, lineage tracking, health checks, and monitoring within Foundry pipelines. Build automated data quality checks, including AIP assisted ones, to keep data accurate and reliable.
• Apply AI tooling to your own workflow: Use AIP and AI assisted development practices to accelerate pipeline work, code review, and documentation.

What You Bring

Data Engineering Foundations

These are the bedrock skills we expect every senior data engineer on this team to have, regardless of platform. Foundry is the surface; these are the muscles underneath.

• 7+ years building production data pipelines in modern stacks.
• Strong SQL, including window functions, CTEs, set operations, and query optimization on large datasets. You can read an execution plan and explain the cost.
• Solid grasp of dimensional modeling (Kimball, star schema), Data Vault, or equivalent. You can defend a modeling choice with reasoning, not dogma.
• Experience designing for slowly changing dimensions, idempotent loads, late arriving data, backfills, and incremental processing.
• Proficiency in Python, including PySpark and pandas for transformation work.
• Working knowledge of the Spark execution model: partitioning, shuffles, skew, broadcast joins, and tuning.
• Experience with ETL and ELT patterns, CDC pipelines, and workflow orchestration.
• Familiarity with modern transformation frameworks such as DBT, including tests, documentation, snapshots, and incremental materializations.
• Understanding of columnar formats (Parquet, Delta, Iceberg), table formats, and partitioning strategies.
• Practical experience implementing data quality frameworks, data contracts, and SLAs between producers and consumers.
• Comfort with Git workflows, code review, branching strategies, and CI/CD for data platforms.

Palantir Foundry and AIP

• 2+ years hands on Palantir Foundry experience with delivered work you can describe in detail.
• Strong knowledge of core Foundry capabilities: Ontology Manager, Ontology Functions and Actions, Pipeline Builder, Code Repositories, Code Workbook, Workshop, Builds, and platform security (branching, resource allocation, rollbacks).
• Experience with Foundry analytical and integration tools: Quiver, Contour, OSDK, and Marketplace products.
• Hands on experience with AIP for augmenting data workflows: AIP Logic, AIP Assist and Threads, and AIP assisted Pipeline Builder.
• Familiarity with newer AIP surfaces is a strong plus: AIP Agent Studio, AIP Analyst, FDE AI and Solution Designer, AIP Evals, and Automate.
• Understanding of how to evaluate, guardrail, and version AI driven functions and agents in a production context.

Cloud, Architecture, and Stakeholder Skills

Position Overview

About the role

Starburst is looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to sit at the intersection of software engineering and data engineering — building the internal platforms, pipelines, and data products that power how we understand our customers and our business. You'll work across Starburst Enterprise and Starburst Galaxy, using our own technology to solve real problems at scale, while also contributing software that other teams depend on.

As Associate Director of RWD Intelligence at Formation Bio, you will lead the strategy and execution of our real-world data (RWD) capabilities, building the data foundations that power drug acquisition, clinical development, and portfolio decision-making. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of RWD: sourcing, procurement, ingestion, harmonization, quality assurance, and delivery of analysis-ready datasets to downstream consumers across Product, Data Science, Clinical Development, and Business Development.

This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, data science, and drug development. You will build and maintain scalable data infrastructure (pipelines, data models, lakes/marts) while ensuring semantic interoperability across heterogeneous data sources through ontology-driven harmonization frameworks such as OMOP. You will also manage vendor relationships and data procurement, evaluating and integrating new data assets as the portfolio evolves. The ideal candidate combines deep RWD domain expertise with strong data fluency, enabling Formation Bio to treat real-world evidence as a first-class strategic asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the RWD Intelligence function within Data Science, owning data strategy, sourcing, and delivery of analysis-ready datasets
• Architect and maintain the supporting infrastructure (pipelines, ingestion workflows, data models, lakes/marts) across EHR/EMR, claims, registries, and genomics-linked cohorts
• Drive adoption and extension of harmonization frameworks (e.g., OMOP CDM) across heterogeneous data sources, leveraging AI/ML tools for entity resolution, ontology mapping, data quality monitoring, and automated harmonization
• Manage RWD vendor relationships end-to-end: evaluate providers, negotiate data use agreements, broker new partnerships, and integrate acquired datasets into the platform
• Partner with Data Science, Clinical Development, Business Development, and Engineering teams to define RWD use cases (trial feasibility, synthetic control arms, epidemiology, label expansion) and productize ad hoc pipelines into scalable, production-grade systems
• Foster a culture of data quality rigor, documentation, and reproducibility across all RWD assets

About You 

Required Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in biomedical informatics, computational sciences, epidemiology, or a related quantitative field
• 5+ years of industry experience working directly with real-world data (EHR/EMR, claims, registries, linked biobank data) in pharma, biotech, health tech, or consulting, with at least 2+ years in people management
• Strong data engineering proficiency (pipelines, ingestion frameworks, data models, data lakes/marts) combined with deep working knowledge of biological and medical ontologies (ICD, SNOMED CT, MedDRA, RxNorm, ATC) and harmonization standards, particularly OMOP CDM
• Demonstrated experience with RWD procurement and vendor management: evaluating data providers, negotiating agreements, and integrating new data assets
• Proven ability to deliver RWD-derived insights across multiple drug development use cases (e.g., trial design, epidemiology, comparative effectiveness, label expansion), with familiarity across the development lifecycle from target selection through post-market
• Proficiency with modern AI/ML tools, including large language models, and their applications in data engineering and harmonization workflows
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data infrastructure concepts for clinical, scientific, and executive audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in biomedical informatics, epidemiology, computational biology, or a related field
• Experience with large-scale biobank and genomics-linked RWD platforms (UK Biobank, FinnGen, All of Us), with a track record of building RWD infrastructure that directly influenced drug acquisition, licensing, or portfolio decisions
• Familiarity with additional biomedical data modalities (scientific literature mining, -omics datasets, molecular data integration) and with data science/analytics methodologies applied to RWD (causal inference, trial simulation, propensity score methods)
• Background transitioning data infrastructure from research/ad hoc to production-grade systems in regulated environments
• Experience working at the intersection of data engineering, data science, and business strategy in pharma/biotech

As a Starburst Data Customer Support Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting our SEP (Starburst Enterprise Platform) and Galaxy customers that submit break/fix and other technical inquiries. About the Role

You’ll join a cross-functional R&D team focused on the availability, quality, and usability of AI and Analytics data for our customers. In this Senior-level role, you’ll lead complex software and data engineering projects across multi-component systems, from shaping requirements to design, implementation, and long-term operation. You’ll be a go-to expert for AI and analytics data, collaborating with product managers, AI, analytics, and other engineering teams to ensure our data is accurate, observable, and ready to drive insights and enable AI/ML products at scale.

Who You Are

6+ years of software engineering with at least 4 or those being data engineering experience, with a strong track record building and operating data pipelines and analytics models in production.

Deep proficiency in large-scale SQL and data modeling for analytics. 

Strong programming skills in a modern language commonly used for data engineering (e.g. Python), and familiarity with orchestration and transformation tooling (e.g., Airflow, EMR, Spark/pyspark, or equivalents).

Experience working with modern data platforms (e.g., columnar data warehouses, object storage) and processing frameworks (batch and/or streaming).

Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects spanning multiple components and engineers—driving clarity, making tradeoffs, and delivering measurable impact on reliability, performance, or business outcomes.

Comfortable owning systems in production: you think about observability, incident response, incremental rollouts, and long-term maintainability as part of the design.

About the Position

Formation Bio is hiring Product Leads to own major problem domains across our drug development platform - for example, how we evaluate and acquire drug assets, how we design and run clinical trials, or how we build regulatory submissions. You will report to the CTO. 

This is a product leadership role, but not a traditional one. You won't be writing specs for engineers to build. You'll own a business domain: set the strategy, define what to build, lead a cross-functional team through delivery, and be measured on whether the work actually changes outcomes for the drug programs and business functions you serve. The Associate Director, Drug Product, will provide strategic and hands-on operational leadership for all CMC activities related to drug product development and manufacturing, with a primary focus on sterile injectables (lyophilized and liquid) at all stages of development (IND-enabling to commercialization).

The Associate Director, Drug Product, will be responsible for overseeing the formulation development, fill-finish, packaging, and release of drug products at CDMOs ensuring manufacturing operations align with program timelines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. This position requires deep expertise in biologics drug product manufacturing, strong technical problem-solving abilities, and proven experience managing complex manufacturing operations with external partners. You will play a critical role in accelerating our mission of bringing new treatments to patients faster and more efficiently.

Responsibilities

Development and Manufacturing Strategy, Operations and Oversight

• Lead drug product manufacturing strategy and execution for programs from preclinical through commercial stages, ensuring alignment with program objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.

About You

• You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong track record of building and maintaining production-grade pipelines.
• You are deeply fluent in dbt and follow best practices rigorously—including modular model design, sources and refs, testing (schema + data), documentation, and environment management.
• You have hands-on expertise with Snowflake, including schema design, performance tuning, and data governance patterns.
• You have experience with at least one modern orchestration tool—we use Dagster, but experience with Airflow or Prefect is equally welcome.
• You have broad ingestion experience across source types: REST APIs, flat files (CSV, JSON, Parquet), relational databases, and vendor-licensed datasets.
• You have worked with large datasets (TB -> PB scale) and understand the engineering considerations that come with scale—partitioning, incremental loading, efficient data movement, and storage optimization.

About the Position 

The Associate Director, Bioanalytical will lead bioanalytical strategy and delivery for assigned programs, working across nonclinical and clinical teams to ensure assays are fit for purpose and support key development decisions. The role will oversee external bioanalytical partners and drive execution for PK/TK, metabolites as applicable, biologics bioanalysis, and immunogenicity, including assay approach selection, validation strategy, sample analysis oversight, data review, and submission-ready documentation. In partnership with Clinical Pharmacology, DMPK/Nonclinical, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, and data teams, this role will help scale Formation Bio’s Trial Engine by standardizing bioanalytical workflows, improving traceability, and enabling consistent, analysis-ready bioanalytical outputs across programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead bioanalytical strategy and delivery for assigned programs across small molecules and biologics, aligned to clinical questions and decision points
• Define assay plans and validation approaches (fit-for-purpose through full validation) for PK/TK, metabolites as applicable, biologics bioanalysis, and immunogenicity
• Manage bioanalytical CROs and specialty labs for assigned workstreams: contribute to partner selection, define scopes, set timelines, and monitor performance, quality, and budget
• Oversee end-to-end bioanalytical execution: protocols, validation reports, sample analysis, data review, and final reports to support program decisions and filings
• Own day-to-day BA operating processes for assigned programs: assay lifecycle tracking, method transfer planning, issue triage, deviation management, and CAPA follow-up with vendors
• Ensure data quality and audit readiness for assigned deliverables through strong documentation practices, traceability, and alignment to regulatory guidance and internal standards
• Partner with Clinical Pharmacology and Clinical Development on study design inputs, sampling strategies, analyte panels, and interpretation of exposure and immunogenicity implications
• Coordinate with Clinical Operations on sample logistics (kits, handling, stability, chain of custody, reconciliation) and resolution of operational issues impacting bioanalysis
• Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs by drafting/reviewing submission components and providing technical input to support IND/CTA and NDA/BLA/MAA activities
• Align with DMPK/Nonclinical on bioanalytical approaches across studies and support translational PK needs
• Work with Biostatistics/Data Science to enable clean data transfers, consistent formats/metadata, and analysis-ready datasets
• Support diligence and asset evaluation by reviewing bioanalytical packages, identifying gaps/risks, and proposing pragmatic remediation plans
• Contribute to Trial Engine scaling by helping standardize templates, workflows, and reporting conventions that improve speed and consistency across programs

About You 

• PhD in a relevant field with 7+ years of bioanalytical experience in biopharma, including clinical-stage support, or a relevant undergraduate degree with 10+ years of experience
• Lead bioanalytical strategy and execution for assigned preclinical and clinical programs across small molecules and biologics
• Deep LC–MS/MS expertise for PK/TK, troubleshooting, and ISR
• Familiar with biologics bioanalysis and immunogenicity (ADA/NAb) approaches and interpretation
• Strong working knowledge of bioanalytical regulatory expectations and submission-quality documentation
• Lead CRO/vendor execution for assigned workstreams; support partner selection and governance as needed
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with multiple concurrent priorities
• Clear communicator who can translate technical detail into program-relevant recommendations
• Preferred: Experience functioning as part of a clinical study team to integrate tradeoffs between vendor selection, development speed, assay quality and performance, and applicability of method to deliver value to program overall
• Preferred: Familiarity with GCP/GCLP expectations and audit/inspection readiness for clinical bioanalysis
