Db2 Data Engineering

Provide Db2 system engineering services for UBS Db2 for z/OS platforms, including subsystem engineering, lifecycle management, maintenance and PFSET implementation, upgrades aligned to the IBM Db2 Continuous Delivery model, performance engineering, Level 3 support for complex database issues, and definition of engineering configurations for resiliency, recovery, automation, and monitoring. The service ensures Db2 platforms remain secure, stable, supported, and aligned with UBS architecture standards.

Key responsibilities

• Platform lifecycle and maintenance effectiveness
• Successful execution of maintenance, PFSET deployments, upgrades, and engineering changes
• Performance engineering effectiveness
• Platform stability
• Resiliency and recovery readiness
• L3 support effectiveness and timely issue resolution

Other Qualifications

• Experience with CA, BMC, and IBM tools for DB2
• Experience establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, DR, security, maintenance and utilization preferred
• Supporting multiple for clients after hours on-call
• Self-motivated and able to work independently. 
• Must be able to multi-task and work under short deadlines and in high pressure situations.
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentations)
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
