ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Software Engineer (SWE) to join our rapidly-growing team in Reston, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for developing full-stack software solutions to challenging technical problems, with responsibilities including but not limited to front-end and back-end development, database management, code refactors, and performance optimization. You will need to work within tight timelines and resource constraints while still delivering a high-quality product.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 15+ years of progressive experience in complex network systems engineering, R&D, and product development, with a significant portion in a leadership or Chief Engineer capacity for multi-disciplinary systems.
• Deep and broad technical expertise across network system design and implementation, encompassing significant experience in at least two of the following areas, with a strong understanding of the others:

Job Summary:

As Senior Director, Federal Scientific Partnerships, you will lead PsiQuantum’s strategy for scientific and technical partnerships and business growth across the U.S. federal civilian R&D ecosystem, with emphasis on the Department of Energy (DOE), National Science Foundation (NSF), NIST, NASA, national laboratories, and research universities. Two Six Technologies is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a small engineering team to be a hands-on-keyboard contributor to the deployment and operation of our public-facing and customer-facing systems in support of national security missions.

You will be responsible for deploying, securing, and monitoring our production, test, and development environments. Our environments are in Digital Ocean and AWS, with most of our applications running in Docker containers. You are a great fit if you are experienced with Ansible, Terraform, and/or other similar tools to manage and automate these types of deployments. Our primary datastore is PostgreSQL, and we also support applications that use MySQL and Elastic. 

Most of your day-to-day will be focused on engineering activities and collaborating with our technical team members on system designs and strategic technical decisions. We currently have a deployment window that requires some evening work once a week, and occasional events outside of regular business hours. We prioritize system stability and are very successful in minimizing support calls.

This role is on-site in Rosslyn, VA. This position requires an active TS clearance. 

Our teams are doing innovative development across a wide range of technologies, including building large, distributed computing platforms that process huge quantities of data each day, leveraging large language models (LLMs) and generative AI to enrich and improve analysis of that data, and we are supporting important missions of our customers.
