Zipline’s long-range autonomous drone system is already delivering millions of medical products across Africa, and as we scale, we’re establishing new distribution centers – the backbone of our operation. Each launch is a complex, multi-stakeholder effort requiring rigorous project management, cross-functional coordination, and hands-on leadership at the country level. We’re looking for a Deployments Project Manager to own local planning and execution of these rollouts. You’ll lead everything from site acquisition and permitting to construction, vendor management, and operational handover, coordinating across internal and external stakeholders to deliver sites that meet Zipline’s technical, safety, and performance standards. This is a highly visible role for a resourceful, technically savvy project manager who is eager to shape Zipline’s growing footprint and deliver lasting impact.
This role will be based in-country with extensive on-site presence required throughout the deployment period. Must be eligible to work in-country and commit to travel and frequent field-based work.

This senior role is responsible for delivering Zipline distribution centers across the country, leading in-country teams and driving execution excellence from site acquisition and permitting through construction, vendor management, and operational handover. You will serve as the central point of coordination between local teams and global stakeholders across Engineering, Supply Chain, Legal, Regulatory, and Partnerships, ensuring each launch meets Zipline’s global standards while adapting to Côte d'Ivoire’s regulatory and operational context. As a member of Zipline’s Flight Operations team in Nigeria, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the delivery of medical products to health facilities is done safely and on time. This will involve working with a team of flight operators to conduct regular preflight inspections, launching, and recovery of the drones (aircraft).
You'll learn how to effectively and safely handle zip components, assembling and disassembling components right after recovery. You'll be expected to provide feedback and ideas to the flight operators on how to make our operations safer and ultimately help us scale to 400+ deliveries per day.
Safety is your priority: your goal is to never harm people or property and report potential safety risks ahead of time.
QUALIFICATIONS
Once hired you will go through a rigorous training program with Zipline Academy to gain a deep understanding of our history, our mission, our impact, and our UAS systems. The program includes thorough Flight Operations training that covers different parts of our system and our drone.
Please note: This role is on a two-year fixed-term contract.

This is a hybrid role with significant in-person requirements. While some responsibilities can be performed remotely, the role demands regular presence on the ground to build relationships, oversee implementation, and liaise with local stakeholders. At the same time, given the high degree of virtual collaboration with colleagues and partners across multiple geographies, the successful candidate must be highly self-driven, comfortable working in small in-person teams while contributing to larger efforts virtually, and disciplined in using online collaboration tools and video conferencing to maintain constant communication.
