Senior Corporate Counsel, Commercial
In this role, you will have primary responsibility for advising and supporting the sales and professional services organizations supporting Okta’s largest enterprise customers in North America. You will apply your experience when providing strong legal guidance, structuring complex deals, and drafting and negotiating SaaS Subscription Agreements and related commercial documents with some of the biggest names across every industry who trust Okta to help their organizations work faster, boost revenue, and stay secure.
What you’ll be doing
What you’ll bring to the role
7+ years of relevant transactional legal experience negotiating and drafting enterprise-level technology agreements, including SaaS subscription agreements, cloud services agreements, technology licenses, and professional services agreements, statements of work, ordering documents, NDAs, amendments and related commercial documents.
4+ years of in-house experience with a large technology vendor providing transactional legal support.
Significant experience providing commercial legal support to sales teams calling on large, strategic enterprise accounts in North America, including those in highly-regulated industries (e.g., finance, banking, healthcare, etc).
Proven track record of managing multiple complex deals with the ability to organize, prioritize deadlines and perform effectively in a fast-paced, fiscal quarter focused work environment.
Articulate communicator with confidence advising senior sales leadership and internal stakeholders on complex commercial issues.
Strong experience and demonstrated knowledge of the SaaS business model, revenue recognition principles, enterprise cloud computing, complex deal structures and related data privacy and security frameworks with a focus on regulated industries.
Deal urgency and interest in supporting revenue transactions.
Sound legal and business judgment, excellent drafting ability, and the ability to think strategically and give practical advice while appropriately weighing legal and business objectives.
Flexible and adaptable, with an eagerness to learn and grow in a highly dynamic environment.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across diverse teams.
Personable, self-motivated team player, willing to roll up their sleeves to get work done and have fun while doing it.

The OTE range for this role is targeted at $203,500 - $243,058 for the Chicago Area. Actual base pay will depend on a variety of factors such as education, skills, experience, location, etc. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All regular employees may also be eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Octave is seeking to partner with existing group practices in Illinois (Chicagoland area), that want to provide excellent mental health care, in-person. As an Octave partner, your team will join a supportive community of clinicians focused on client-centered, evidence-based therapy.
At Octave, we take care of all backend operations so your clinicians can focus on providing care. Our team manages credentialing, billing, marketing, technology support, and client referrals. This allows your clinicians to focus primarily on seeing the clients we connect them with and completing session documentation, removing the administrative burden from your group practice.
Your providers will support adult clients managing stress, anxiety, depression, and related concerns. We emphasize evidence based practices such as CBT and DBT with a strong commitment to culturally responsive care.

The base salary range for candidates within the Greater Chicago Area is $40.10-$47.91 per hour, along with incentive compensation ranging from approximately $25,020 - $29,896. For full-time employment, the estimated all-in annual compensation range (OTE) is $83,400 - $99,653. Actual hourly rate will depend on a variety of factors such as education, skills, experience, location, and other relevant considerations. The hourly pay rate and incentive compensation is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This range is a good faith estimate only; actual compensation will vary based on hours worked and individual and company performance. The range listed reflects multiple levels within the company - leveling and compensation will be determined throughout the interview process.
