We are looking for a highly experienced Electronics Engineer to work on the design and development of Oura’s electronic systems. In this role we provide an opportunity to take the technical leadership in the electronics design of Oura products. Candidates can work either in a Lead position with team lead and project management duties in our product programs, or as an individual contributor as a staff engineer having responsibility of the technical work for design capture, implementation and verification. The Role: 

We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to join the Core Developer Experience (Core DX) team and help make AlphaSense an exceptional environment for building software. In this role, you’ll focus on enabling engineers to work at high velocity, with confidence and flow, by reducing friction and improving the speed and quality of feedback in local development. You’ll design and evolve the tools, environments, and workflows that support fast, reliable iteration for ~400 engineers globally.

Core DX owns the inner loop of development, the day-to-day experience of writing, building, and testing code, along with the internal developer platform, self-service tooling, and developer productivity insights that support it. This is distinct from Cloud Platform DX (outer loop), which owns CI/CD and production infrastructure. You’ll work closely with Cloud DX to ensure a seamless SDLC experience from local development to production, while staying focused on the developer-facing side of that journey.

A key part of this role is embedding AI into the SDLC in a way that meaningfully augments engineers’ day-to-day workflows, from code authoring to debugging and testing, while ensuring consistent quality and safe adoption at scale.

We are looking for a Staff Engineer to join team Aqueduct, a team building our data platform for powering large-scale cross-platform advertising. Our ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who has experience in designing, implementing and managing data platforms and pipelines that are scalable, reliable and efficient.

For our customers, ensuring their data is available and composable can:

• unlock the potential of creative automation with image and video templates
• power agentic workflows that utilise the data
• allow analysis of the relationship between product data and ad performance.

Being able to sync our customers’ product data across multiple advertising channels consistently and with minimal delays ensures that:

• the ads consumers see have the latest information
• products that are out of stock are not advertised
• regulatory requirements are met

The team currently has a backend written in Ruby on Rails, and we own small parts of the frontend written in TypeScript and React. We’re moving our data systems from Ruby to a language and architecture better suited for the workload and capable of scaling with our growth. We're looking for an expert to lead the build and design of this new platform using the right tools for the job.

Projects you get to work with

• Design and build a large scale data storage and processing system that needs to process billions of records per day
• Drive the long term architecture and engineering excellence inside the team by coaching and mentoring other engineers
• Collaborate with stakeholders from across the organization: engineering, product and business
• Define and monitor SLAs, and follow SRE best practices to ensure the stability and availability of the system
• Build APIs for internal and external consumers of the data

What We Are Looking For

• 8+ years of industry experience
• Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Scala and/or Java)
• Deep experience with data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink, Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, ClickHouse)
• Familiarity with streaming systems (e.g Kafka, Kinesis)
• Expertise in SQL and some RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Citus, etc.)
• Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Argo)
• Experience with data governance tools (e.g., OpenMetadata, GreatExpectations, Apache Atlas, dbt)

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Principal Software Engineer to help define and build shared, API-first product platforms at AlphaSense that power multiple product surfaces, integrations, and agentic workflows.

In this role, you’ll focus on building platforms as products: well-designed APIs, clear contracts, strong reliability guarantees, and a roadmap driven by real product needs. These platforms are consumed by internal product teams, external integrations, including AI agents.

This role sits at the intersection of hands-on engineering and cross-product technical leadership. You’ll stay close to the code while shaping how product platforms are designed, evolved, and adopted across the company. You’ll also work across multiple teams and domains, helping to align long-term technical direction while still owning end-to-end systems. This is not a people-management role, nor is it a purely advisory architecture role. We’re explicitly looking for a Principal who enjoys building, prototyping, iterating, and solving complex problems in production.

What You’ll Do:

• Act as a technical owner and force multiplier for API-first architecture across the company
• Design, build, and evolve high-scale APIs used by internal teams, external customers, and intelligent agents
• Lead the development of agentic workflows, including orchestration, state management, tooling, and integration patterns
• Drive API standards, design principles, and best practices through hands-on work and technical reviews
• Tackle complex cross-team problems where requirements are ambiguous, and constraints are real
• Partner with Product, Platform, and SRE teams to ensure APIs are reliable, observable, secure, and scalable

Who you are:

• Extensive experience as a senior staff/principal-level software engineer working on applications and backend systems
• Experience building product platforms or shared services consumed by multiple product teams
• Proven track record of designing, building, and operating APIs at scale
• Strong hands-on experience with RESTful APIs
• Some experience with GraphQL (design, usage, or operating in production)
• Deep understanding of system design, performance, reliability, and evolution over time
• Strong bias toward hands-on contribution and ownership of real systems
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams through credibility and execution

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, DataFlow (Android), to focus on core Android components responsible for storage and movement of data between Oura’s mobile app and cloud.

This role is hybrid, as you'll work a day or so a week at the Helsinki Office at Pohjoisesplanadi 37. We don't have any strict policy on this as a company, but as a team we appreciate spending some time face to face.

DataFlow team core mission:

• Reduce the effort required to store and query data that needs to be available in Oura’s app and across the cloud
• Empower feature teams to develop end-to-end features without the need to involve backend engineers.
• Evangelize compliance with standardized data schemas, data quality and data lifetime management.
• Ensure our systems are performant, scalable and cost-efficient, able to handle millions of active users and PBs of data.

The dataflow team is a platform team - most of the work is internal-facing. UI work is rare.
The team includes android, iOS,  backend, and “full-stack” engineers that do both app-side and backend work.

This role:

You will be one of the core Android engineers for this team. The focus area may naturally shift over time but the following provides an idea of the work being done:

• Writing kotlin code (for the most part)
• Improving app-cloud data sync, including: reliability, latency, performance, observability.
• Improving app-side data storage: performance, data access api design, data migration systems, etc.
• Implementing automation and codegeneration layers.
• Supporting a variety of work in the platform domain, including data management and more.

You will participate in both design and implementation work. This being a platform team with internal users, we expect team members to be proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement at feature and architecture level.

Technologies:

• Android: Kotlin, (with some C++ libs, mostly in other domains), RealmDB (we’re migrating away from it), Sqlite
• Backend: Python, Rust, AWS
• Misc: some TypeScript

We believe great engineers have a solid understanding of the fundamentals and learn quickly. Hence it’s more important that you can showcase excellence than having experience with specific tech.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience with mobile development
• Ideally, proficient in Kotlin programming and modern Android app architecture. iOS experience is also considered.
• Previous experience solving challenging technical problems.
• Broad knowledge of software fundamentals, testing, concurrency, databases, and system design.
• Ability to take ownership of projects, design technical solutions, drive implementation, and deliver results with limited guidance.
• Ability to mentor other engineers and increase developer productivity across teams.
• Ability to produce high quality code quickly (with and without AI) -  you identify yourself as a prolific programmer.

• Experience writing highly performant code at lower and higher level, including application profiling.
• Knowledge of iOS - if interested, there is potential to contribute on both Android and iOS.
