The Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer dedicated to the core development of our Aiven for OpenSearch service. This role is a highly technical and strategic contributor position focused on the internal architecture, reliability, and evolution of our search offering.

In this role, you will work on how we manage and tune OpenSearch at scale, while spearheading our transition into AI-optimized infrastructure. You will be a key driver of service availability and the technical lead for deploying next-generation hardware within our search clusters.

What You'll Do

• Autonomic Systems: Design and implement new and improve existing automated management, self-healing recovery mechanisms, and performance-tuning logic for OpenSearch clusters.

• Engineering Ownership: Own the health, reliability, and availability metrics of our OpenSearch platform.

What We’re Looking For

• Search Mastery: Deep technical knowledge of OpenSearch or Elasticsearch internals, particularly in resource management, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
• Reliability & Operations: A passion for building highly available, resilient distributed systems and a proven track record of solving complex operational challenges.
• Hardware: Interest or experience in hardware acceleration, specifically deploying and managing GPU-based instances for data services.
• Automation Mindset: Proven experience in designing automated recovery systems and performance-tuning algorithms.
• Modern Search Patterns: A strong interest in the evolving landscape, including Vector Database implementations, hybrid search and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).

Senior Technical Account Manager - EMEA

The Role: We are looking for a customer-centric Senior Technical Account Manager (TAM) with a direct focus on our largest enterprise customers. The TAM is a technical professional who helps optimize Aiven’s customer experience and accelerate time-to-value when using Aiven’s Open Source services. The Role

As the Global Events Manager, you are the lead producer of Aiven’s physical and virtual brand experience. You don't just book booths; you architect high-impact environments that cut through the noise of the industry. You are a master of high-velocity project management, capable of juggling a diverse portfolio from large 3rd party conferences (AWS re:Invent, Kafka Summit) to intimate 1st party Aiven-hosted events (Customer Advisory Boards, User Roadshows, Annual Sales Kick-off). Key Responsibilities

Ideal Candidate:

• 6+ years in tech event management. Proven experience running both large-scale trade show presences and high-touch proprietary events (User Conferences/SKOs).
• Proven ability to track and report on funnel impact. You are comfortable analyzing ROI and making evidence based recommendations on where to invest the event budget.
• Obsessive attention to detail. You have a "one-inch-off-is-wrong" mentality, spotting small errors in seating charts or booth graphics before they become problems.

There has been a rise in fake job postings used by scammers to get personal information. At Aiven, all of our emails relating to recruitment come from an @aiven.io, @greenhouse.io or @eu.greenhouse.io domain and all of our interviews are conducted by video call or in person.  Our interviews will never occur via text or chat.
