About This Role 

Axsome Therapeutics is currently searching for a Regional Business Director (RBD) to lead commercial activities for an assigned geography, establish a team of Account Managers, execute marketing strategies, and ensure a successful promotion of SYMBRAVO, an oral acute migraine medication. The RBD will be primarily responsible for the supervision and leadership of an industry shaping, uniquely structured salesforce leveraging the use of a highly sophisticated digital infrastructure. All RBDs will be aligned to geographical territories and assume full ownership of driving sales within the region.

The RBD is responsible for sales performance at a Region level and is expected to be a product champion and exhibit the business knowledge of the local landscape to assess key stakeholders plus future trends within the marketplace. This is a cross-functional front-line leader role that will focus on the launch of our new Migraine medication. The position is field-based and will require travel as needed to develop internal and external relationships.  

Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 

• Responsible for supervising operations of the Region which includes: driving results, hiring and coaching, account manager development, performance management, and the assignment of key "priority" accounts within the medical community  

• Develop and implement strategic plans for the Region including the right balance of live/virtual interactions and the prioritization of efforts by the team  

• Plan, organize and drive performance to achieve the business potential of the region through coaching and influence of direct reports  

• Establish and maintain effective communication among all members of the Region across cross-channel stakeholders in the Accounts and Market Access team  

• Maintain required technical expertise in order to respond accurately to all questions regarding products, marketing, policies, and business-related issues from customers and account managers  

• Work with direct reports to understand and consistently execute established expectations.  

• Consistently exemplify the ability to help a SAM improve on their selling skills, account management, product knowledge and capabilities needed for success through coaching and counsel. Lead by example through coaching direct reports both in live and virtual engagements.  

• Effectively plan and conduct plan of action and other meetings with members of the Region and Market Access teams   

• Develop and implement Region business plan, manage Region budget and overall responsibility for P&L at Region level in alignment with Regional and National expectations  

• Have a complete understanding of all relevant compliance laws, policies and processes and ensure actions of self and team are fully compliant  

• Overnight travel as indicated by the needs of the business

Requirements / Qualifications 

•  Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

• 5 years or more of field leadership experience and/or payer account management and/or demonstrated sales success with increasing responsibility and organizational leadership  

• Previous pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales experience preferred with at least three to five years spent in a position with demonstrated 1st line leadership groups  

• Proven performance history in the ability to lead others to success through your coaching influence 

• Demonstrated experience delivering outstanding results and developing others to their potential   

• Proven track record in attracting and retaining top talent  

• Current or recent Migraine disease experience strongly preferred  

• Successful launch experience strongly preferred  

• Experience to strategize within teams using differential resources to reach business goals  

• Proven ability to run multiple tasks concurrently under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment  

• Must live within the territory’s geography  

• Comfortable with uncertainty and high expectations

 Salary and Benefits 

The anticipated salary range for this role is $165,000 - $205,000. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location. Responsibilities:

• Lead Talkdesk’s Strategic HLS Healthcare & Life Sciences (HLS) customer implementation projects from kick-off to completion 
• Define project scope, schedule project activities, and integrate those into the broader project plan with the customer project manager(s)
• Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously. Work with customers, partners, & internal solutions consultants to drive positive progress across multi-location & multi-phase deployments for all project related activities
• Proactively identify risks pertaining to time, scope, & budget. Develop comprehensive mitigation strategies with clear communication plan for all internal & external stakeholders
• Conduct regular status meetings with customers and team to assess progress against plan; performs re-forecasts of project variables as necessary throughout the project to ensure timeline adherence
• Conduct executive business reviews throughout the implementation with executive and senior leadership outlining projects status, open risks and project success dependencies
• Understand customer use cases, formulate best practices, and document requirements (functional and technical) needed to address client needs

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in client management, or significant professional experience in a Project Management role, MBA Degree preferred

Job Summary:

The Field Reimbursement Manager is a regionally field based position that provides reimbursement and access support for patients who have been prescribed a rare disease product.  Reporting to the Director, Patient Access Solutions, he/she will work closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and ancillary staff, as well as patients and caregivers of patients to prevent and address barriers to patient access and reimbursement. Essential Functions:

• Provide coordination of care to patients and their caregivers accessing a rare disease product by working with Healthcare Providers to ensure access
• In person meetings with patients, healthcare providers, and/or other office staff to discuss and educate on product specific coverage and reimbursement, alternative insurance and coverage options, and relevant information to aid in the continued access of a rare disease product.

Job Requirements: 

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required

Experience

A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a Market Access and/or Patient Services role, with extensive prior knowledge in patient access and reimbursement required

Technical Skills

Proficient in MS Office Suite

Non-Technical Skills

• 3+ years informal leadership experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry required, product launch experience a plus
• Rare Disease and Specialty products experience preferred

• Exceptional enthusiasm with a drive to succeed

• Ability to strategically think and tactically execute on patient and departmental objectives

Annualized base salary ranges from $160,000 – $185,000 plus sales incentive; actual salaries will vary and may be above or below this range commensurate with various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, and merit. 

This position is eligible for a company car through the Company’s FLEET program.
