Cloud Migration Engineer

You are the engineer clients trust to move their infrastructure to GCP without drama. No data loss, no unplanned downtime, no surprises. You've done this before at production depth — not as a supporting player, but as the person who owned the outcome.Half your work is technical: designing the migration architecture, writing the Terraform that makes it repeatable, and executing the cutover with the discipline that comes from having seen what goes wrong. The other half is client-facing: translating messy real-world infrastructure (legacy systems, undocumented dependencies, nervous stakeholders) into a migration plan that the client can understand and the build team can execute.You use AI to work more efficiently. You don't use it as a substitute for knowing what you're doing. You will sit in our headquarters in Dallas, TX on a hybrid schedule. The team is in office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. 

What experience should you have:

• 8-12 years of cloud engineering experience, with a track record of owning GCP migrations end to end at production depth.
• Proven success migrating production workloads to GCP with no data loss and no unplanned downtime. You can walk us through a migration you owned, what went wrong, and how you handled it.
• Strong Terraform expertise: you write infrastructure as code by default, not as an afterthought.
• Multi-cloud fluency: you understand the source environments clients are migrating from and can map their architecture to GCP equivalents without starting from scratch.
• Consulting or client-facing experience: you can lead a room, manage expectations, and communicate technical risk to people who don't want to hear it.
• Clear, direct written communication: migration plans, runbooks, and handoff docs that someone else can actually use.

Nice to have

• GCP Professional certifications (Cloud Architect, Data Engineer, or equivalent).
• Experience with containerized workloads: GKE, Cloud Run, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with data migration tooling: Database Migration Service, Datastream, Transfer Service.
• Exposure to compliance requirements in migration contexts: data residency, encryption in transit and at rest, audit logging.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline migration and modernization.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

• Migration architecture and planning: assessing client environments, mapping dependencies, designing the target GCP architecture, and producing a phased migration plan that accounts for real operational constraints.
• Infrastructure as code: writing and maintaining Terraform configurations that make every migration repeatable, auditable, and reversible where it needs to be.
• The cutover: owning the execution of production migrations with zero data loss and no unplanned downtime. You've done this enough times to know where it goes wrong and how to prevent it.
• Client communication: running technical discovery sessions, presenting migration plans to non-technical stakeholders, and keeping clients informed at every phase without burying them in detail.
• Post-migration validation: performance baselines, monitoring setup, and the handoff documentation that means the client isn't dependent on you forever.

The Role

AXS actively seeking a Database Engineer to provide quality, scalable data solutions for AXS products. The candidate will be expected to collaborate to design and then develop, implement, and optimize critical databases, processes and reports to achieve business goals and support the development and data platform teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Aurora, MongoDB, etc.).
• Integrate database deployments into CI/CD pipelines to enable automated schema migrations, rollback, and testing.
• Develop and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) for database provisioning (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure database performance, health, and security.

• Manage high availability, replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with developers, SREs, and DevOps engineers to ensure smooth and secure application-to-database integration.

• Automate routine operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root cause analysis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience as a Database Engineer / DBA with at least 3+ years in a DevOps/Cloud environment.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server,  Aurora (at least one deeply, others working knowledge).

Overview

We're looking to hire for our Data side of our AI team at Speechify. This role is responsible for all aspects of data collection to support our model training operations. We are able to build high-quality datasets at petabyte-scale and low cost through a tight integration of infrastructure, engineering, and research work. What You’ll Do

• Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into our ingestion pipeline
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform.
• Collaborate closely with our Scientists to shift the cost/throughput/quality frontier, delivering richer data at bigger scale and lower cost to power our next-generation models.
• Collaborate with others on the AI Team and Speechify Leadership to craft the AI Team’s dataset roadmap to power Speechify’s next-generation consumer and enterprise products.

An Ideal Candidate Should Have

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments

About the Job

As a Part-Time System Engineer at Avandra Imaging, you will be an early-career technical generalist supporting the stability, reliability, and performance of our systems. This role bridges frontline technical support, quality assurance, and systems automation, enabling Engineering teams to move quickly and confidently.

This is a hands-on, growth-oriented role designed for candidates early in their technical careers who are eager to build strong foundations in systems engineering, automation, and troubleshooting in a real-world production environment.

What You’ll Do:

Technical Support & Systems Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve software, system, and infrastructure issues across Avandra’s products and internal tooling
• Act as a technical point of contact for escalated or ambiguous issues impacting reliability, performance, or accessibility
• Support deployment, configuration, and maintenance of software, hardware, and internal systems

Quality Assurance

• Contribute to the quality and reliability of Avandra’s software through structured QA processes
• Write and maintain automated test suites (integration, regression, smoke tests)
• Participate in release testing and validation efforts
• Ensure appropriate test coverage for new features and critical infrastructure

System Automation

• Write scripts and tools for deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Support infrastructure provisioning and configuration using automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
• Improve system observability through logging, alerting, and dashboards
• Identify repetitive tasks and build automated solutions to reduce manual effort

What You’ll Need:

• Experience in a technical role (support, QA, IT operations, help desk) or relevant academic, bootcamp, or project experience
• Basic proficiency with Linux/Unix or macOS command-line environments
• Familiarity with at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, JavaScript, Go, etc.)
• Understanding of APIs, client/server concepts, and modern web applications
• Ability to read and interpret logs, error messages, and system metrics at a foundational level
• Basic experience with databases (queries, connections, or schema concepts)

SENIOR DATA ENGINEER

We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Senior Data Engineer to lead in our data engineering consulting team. In this role, you will serve as the technical cornerstone for our clients, designing and deploying the sophisticated data architectures required to support production-grade Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications. This is a high-impact role where you will set the standards for data quality, modeling, and orchestration across the organization. You will navigate diverse technical environments, and your work will directly enable the transition from experimental AI prototypes to resilient, enterprise-scale systems that deliver measurable business value.

What experience should you have:

• 6+ years of data engineering experience with a focus on modern cloud platforms.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL is mandatory.
• Strong software engineering background with proficiency in Python for building custom integrations and data tools.
• Deep production experience with dbt for data modeling and Airflow for orchestration.
• Advanced knowledge of cloud-native data suites within GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure.
• Proficiency in managing environment reproducibility using Terraform and Docker, ensuring pipelines are CI/CD compliant.
• Expert knowledge of cloud data warehouses (BigQuery or Snowflake) and their internal architecture.
• Experience with AI workflows and data systems like vector databases, PostgreSQL, Vertex AI, Pub/Sub.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience architecting feature stores or data pipelines specifically for ML workloads.
• The ability to navigate diverse technical environments and corporate cultures while maintaining a high standard of delivery and client satisfaction.
• A commitment to software engineering best practices, including version control, unit testing, and comprehensive documentation.
• An analytical thinker who anticipates scaling bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities before they impact production.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

• Architect and build scalable, high-volume ELT/ETL pipelines that ingest complex data sets from diverse client systems, including legacy on-premise databases, ERPs, and third-party APIs, into centralized cloud warehouses.
• Lead the audit and optimization of existing data workflows, refactoring inefficient queries and data models to significantly reduce latency and operational costs for enterprise-scale environments.
• Design and implement comprehensive data quality frameworks, ensuring automated testing and validation logic catches anomalies before they reach production models or executive dashboards.
• Design and implement data pipelines specifically for AI workloads, including the management of vector databases to support Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and model inference.

What you'll need to accomplish in your first year:

• Own the roadmap for data platform stability and scalability enhancements, ensuring the infrastructure can support the evolving needs of both corporate IT and AI research teams.
• Provide technical mentorship to the engineering team, conducting rigorous code reviews and driving improvements in coding standards, documentation, and system reliability.
• Standardize the organization’s approach to the Modern Data Stack (MDS), driving the adoption of best practices in dbt, Airflow (Cloud Composer), and Beam (Dataflow) across diverse client engagements.
