About this H-1 Flight Equipment Technician role at ITnova
ITnova is seeking a skilled H-1 Flight Equipment Technician to join our aviation maintenance team supporting mission-critical rotary-wing aircraft operations. This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, servicing, repair, and accountability of aviation life support systems (ALSS) and flight equipment to ensure aircrew safety and mission readiness. The ideal candidate has experience maintaining aviation life support and flight equipment, is knowledgeable in applicable technical manuals and maintenance procedures, and is committed to delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality support in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Performs maintenance, inspection, servicing, preservation, and issue/receipt functions for aviation life support systems (ALSS) and flight equipment.
- Inspects, cleans, tests, repairs, and certifies assigned flight equipment within training and authorization limits.
- Maintains helmets, survival equipment, oxygen equipment, protective gear, and associated ALSS components.
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on assigned flight equipment and support items.
- Maintains flight equipment logs, records, and historical documentation using OOMA and required forms, as applicable.
- Ensures proper accountability, storage, handling, and preservation of flight equipment and related components.
- Uses technical manuals, maintenance requirement cards, and applicable directives in the performance of assigned duties.
- Supports flight line and squadron operations by ensuring serviceable and properly documented flight equipment is available for issue.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years aviation maintenance or flight equipment experience; rotary-wing experience preferred.
- Experience in ALSS / flight equipment maintenance, issue, and inspection is preferred.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a background check and obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Must be able to meet any Government and company licensing or qualification requirements for the position.
- Must be able to read and interpret maintenance procedures, manuals, directives, and forms used on the job.
- Must maintain accurate records and documentation and demonstrate proficiency in OOMA or other required maintenance documentation systems after assignment.
- Secret clearance may be required based on assignment.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
- Able to pass a fit-for-work physical and/or drug test as required.
- Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working overhead.
- Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flight line, as required.
- Must be able to man and perform flight line extinguisher duties, as required.
- If required, must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate powered industrial trucks.
- If required, must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 to 4 hours.
- If required, must be able to perform confined-space activities.
- Travel may be required.
