About this H-1 Aircraft Mechanic (Flight Line CDQAR) role at ITnova
ITnova is seeking an experienced H-1 Aircraft Mechanic (Flight Line - CDQAR) to join our aviation maintenance team supporting mission-critical rotary-wing aircraft operations. In this role, you will perform flight line aircraft maintenance while serving as a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR), ensuring maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs comply with established quality, safety, and operational standards. Responsibilities include conducting preventive and corrective maintenance, performing quality assurance inspections throughout the maintenance process, monitoring safety and compliance programs, and providing technical guidance to maintenance personnel. The ideal candidate has extensive rotary-wing aircraft maintenance experience, a strong background in quality assurance and flight line operations, and a commitment to maintaining safe, reliable, and mission-ready aircraft in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) from the primary discipline of flight line MOS 6114/6174 during the contract period.
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems.
- Performs troubleshooting, repair, modification, corrosion control, and preservation of aircraft subsystems, including fuel, oil, and hydraulic systems.
- Performs functional checks, inspections, and troubleshooting, as required and trained.
- Monitors compliance and provides guidance in Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) programs, including FOD, confined space, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
- Maintains aircraft forms and records using OOMA.
- Operates aircraft towing equipment in towing operations, as required, and maintains familiarity with related support systems.
- Performs quality technical inspection of aircraft, aircraft components, parts, repairs, and systems, including avionics, electrical, instrument, and armament systems, as required by functional assignment.
- Performs quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment, tools, vehicles, and support equipment used in aircraft maintenance.
- Performs initial, in-progress, and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts.
- Provides technical guidance, instructions, and interpretation of written instructions and procedures to mechanics as required to assure acceptable quality workmanship and flight line services.
- Assists in preparation, processing, and response to Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs), as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years aviation maintenance experience.
- Minimum of 4 years rotary-wing aviation experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a CDI or CDQAR on military aircraft, or FAA Inspection Authorization experience.
- Must be skill-qualified in a primary MOS fromOccFld6114/6174, an equivalent skill designation from another service, or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification.
- Must be able to meet any Government and company licensing or qualification requirements for the position.
- UH-1 and AH-1 experience is required.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, pass a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and use measuring instruments, gauges, tools, and test equipment.
- Demonstrate operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines, and component parts.
- Knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance.
- Ability to read and write, interpret, and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, directives, guides, and forms used on the job.
- Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA after assignment.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
- Able to pass a fit-for-work physical and/or drug test as required.
- Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working overhead.
- Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flight line, as required.
- Must be able to man and perform flight line extinguisher duties, as required.
- If required, must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate powered industrial trucks.
- If required, must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 to 4 hours.
- If required, must be able to perform confined-space activities.
- Travel may be required.
