ITnova is seeking an experienced H-1 Airframe / Hydraulic Mechanic (CDQAR) to join our aviation maintenance team supporting mission-critical rotary-wing aircraft operations. In this role, you will perform aircraft maintenance while serving as a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR), ensuring all maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications comply with established quality, safety, and regulatory standards. You will provide technical oversight and guidance to maintenance personnel, conduct quality assurance inspections throughout the maintenance process, and help ensure aircraft are maintained in a safe, reliable, and mission-ready condition. Responsibilities:
- Serves as a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) from the primary discipline of Airframes MOS 6154 during the contract period.
- Performs routine aircraft maintenance functions.
- Operate aircraft towing equipment in towing operations, as required.
- Maintain aircraft hydraulic and structural systems.
- Perform corrosion prevention and treatment.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems.
- Troubleshooting, repair, modification, corrosion control, and preservation of aircraft and aircraft subsystems.
- Service ground support equipment and perform preventive maintenance inspections on assigned support equipment, as required.
- Use blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, manufacturers’ drawings, and sketches in the performance of assigned duties.
- Perform carbon fiber, sheet metal, and composite repairs.
- Perform quality technical inspection of aircraft, aircraft components, parts, repairs, and systems, including avionics, electrical, instrument, and armament systems, as required by functional assignment.
- Perform quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment, tools, vehicles, and support equipment used in aircraft maintenance.
- Perform initial, in-progress, and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts.
- Provide technical guidance, instructions, and interpretation of written instructions and procedures to mechanics as required to assure acceptable quality workmanship and flight line services.
- Assist in preparation, processing, and response to Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs), as required.
- Monitor compliance and provides guidance in Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) programs, including FOD, confined space, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
- Maintain aircraft forms and records using OOMA.
Requirements:
- UH-1 and/or AH-1 Airframes Organizational Maintenance course completion preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years aviation maintenance experience with at least 4 years rotary-wing experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a CDI or CDQAR on military aircraft, or 4 years of FAA Inspection Authorization experience.
- Must have at least 4 years of experience in primary MOS 6154, an equivalent skill designation from another service, or valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a background check and obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC). U.S. citizen and must pass a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- UH-1 or AH-1 experience is required.
- Must be able to meet any Government and company licensing or qualification requirements for the position.
- Must have knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance.
- Must demonstrate operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines, and component parts.
- Able to read and write, interpret, and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, directives, guides, and forms used on the job.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and use measuring instruments, gauges, tools, and test equipment.
- Show proficiency in the use of OOMA after assignment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass a fit-for-work physical and/or drug test as required.
- Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working overhead.
- Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flight line, as required.
- Must be able to man and perform flight line extinguisher duties, as required.
- If required, must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate powered industrial trucks.
- If required, must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 to 4 hours.
- If required, must be able to perform confined-space activities.
