Position Summary
Greenworks is looking to recruit a Senior Product Manager to lead our battery-platform strategy. Job responsibilities are to develop channel-specific assortment, pricing, product architecture and launch strategies in partnership with sales, marketing, and finance. This individual will be the an expert representing the product categories from a product development, product marketing, and road mapping perspective. The selected person will manage the both commercial and consumer worldwide portfolio. The Senior Product Manager will collaborate with engineering and industrial design, in both the US and China, to bring to market innovative product and service solutions. This is a highly visible position within the organization leading the efforts to become a market leader within the battery powered solutions.
Position-Specific Responsibilities:
- Pillars of the position consist of product strategy, portfolio management, customer insight, product marketing, and business performance
- Product lifecycle management including SKU rationalization, product refreshes, cost reductions, feature upgrades, replacement products, inventory, and parts lifecycle
- Be the leader of the product portfolio products and accessories for both Greenworks Commerical & Greenworks battery ecosystem
- Head the collaboration of defining and executing product roadmap
- Business ownership of category P/L and lead go to market strategy including MSRP, competitive price positioning, promotional pricing, and margin optimization
- Lead the VOC work to create assets facilitating the 360-degree journey for product categories
- Collaborate with sales in both professional (dealers and landscapers) and consumer segments (Lowe’s, Walmart, Costco, Amazon, TSC, etc.) to assist in customer presentations
- Analyze market and competitive landscapes, laying out a product vision that is differentiated and delivers unique value based on customer demands
- Continuously assess market competition and voice-of-customer by comparing the company's product to competitors' products. Need to be an expert with respect to the competition
- Stay aware of emerging trends, market opportunities, and competitive solutions and analysis
General Responsibilities
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, organization, and project management skills
- Work with business stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and prioritization
- Define, collect, and measure key product metrics and leverage to inform the success of each release and plan future iterations
- Ensure cross-functional coordination for projects within purview to realize flawless execution of initiatives
- Responsible to achieve objectives as they relate to agreed-upon time-to-market, customer expectations, target cost, margin, and profit objectives
- Responsible for developing sales enablement tools and collateral as well as provide necessary training for category
- This position requires up to 25-30% travel, primarily domestic, but also international
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s Degree (Business Management, Marketing, Engineering, Industrial Design preferred)
- 5-7 years of product management/development experience in related field
- Experience in working with battery OPE and /or Power Tool products
- Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving capability with demonstrated leadership in driving quality improvements
- Strong presentation skills and ability to work cross functionally
- Self-starting with solid follow-through and multitasking abilities
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload
