Position Summary:

The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting quality assurance activities through inspection, testing, auditing, documentation, and quality system support. This position helps ensure that incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products meet Greenworks’ quality standards and customer expectations. The Quality Technician works closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to identify quality issues, maintain accurate records, and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and apply quality standards for incoming materials, in-process materials, and finished goods.
  • Inspect components, assemblies, and finished products using measuring and testing equipment.
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections to verify compliance with quality requirements.
  • Conduct functional, performance, and reliability testing on products and components.
  • Monitor compliance with inspection requirements for materials, components, assemblies, and finished products.
  • Verify testing methods and inspection procedures are performed in accordance with company standards.
  • Measure products against engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to identify defects and nonconformances.
  • Identify, document, and communicate quality concerns to Quality and Production leadership.
  • Assist in the investigation and documentation of product and process quality issues.
  • Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming materials and products in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support corrective action activities by gathering information, documenting findings, and verifying implementation of corrective measures.
  • Conduct routine quality audits and support follow-up activities to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Assist in the development, revision, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), inspection instructions, and quality documentation.
  • Ensure production personnel follow established SOPs and complete required inspections accurately.
  • Maintain inspection records, test reports, quality logs, audit records, and other required documentation.
  • Support quality record retention and document control activities.
  • Assist with calibration tracking and maintenance of gauges, measuring devices, testing equipment, and other quality tools.
  • Perform routine maintenance and care of testing equipment and inspection tools.
  • Support production teams in resolving routine quality concerns and improving product quality.
  • Assist with training employees on quality standards, inspection procedures, and quality awareness initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other departments to support quality objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement activities related to product quality, manufacturing processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Quality, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous quality assurance, quality control, testing, or inspection experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, testing methods, and quality principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and part prints.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic quality inspection techniques and testing procedures.
  • Experience using measurement and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and related tools preferred.
  • Basic understanding of quality systems and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to collect, document, and maintain accurate inspection and testing records.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects and nonconformances.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Ability to use inspection tools, measuring equipment, and testing devices.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
