The right candidate will take ownership of the finance function and operate with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating closely with the Director, external accountants, and advisers across both Australia and the Philippines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Liaise internally with the Director and Operations Manager; and externally with external accountants, financial advisers, lenders, and aggregators across Australia and the Philippines.

Australian Business Bookkeeping

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple Australian business entities, including general ledger maintenance and chart of accounts management.
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations, manage accounts payable and receivable, and process payroll and superannuation.
  • Assist with BAS preparation, GST compliance, and cash flow monitoring.
  • Prepare monthly management reports, financial statements, and budgeting and forecasting support.
  • Liaise with external accountants and financial advisers to ensure records are accurate, compliant, and up to date.

Mortgage Brokerage Financial Administration

  • Reconcile lender commission payments, trail commissions, and aggregator commission statements.
  • Assist with settlement financial reporting and business performance reporting.
  • Prepare financial information and KPI reports for management and external accountants.

SMSF Bookkeeping

  • Record and reconcile SMSF-related transactions and investment accounts.
  • Assist with SMSF property purchase accounting and prepare documentation for accountants.
  • Maintain accurate SMSF records to meet compliance requirements.

Property Portfolio Management

  • Manage bookkeeping across multiple investment properties and property entities, including loan account reconciliations and rental income and expense tracking.
  • Track equity and loan balances and prepare financial reports across multiple property entities.
  • Assist accountants during end-of-financial-year (EOFY) processes.

Philippine Entity Bookkeeping

  • Manage bookkeeping records for the Philippine entity, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Support local payroll administration and work alongside Philippine accountants on financial reporting and compliance.
  • Assist with BIR-related documentation and statutory requirements as required.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for management and ensure accurate financial reporting across both the Australian and Philippine entities.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years supporting Australian businesses
  • Previous experience working within an Australian mortgage brokerage — including commission reconciliation, trail commissions, and settlement processes
  • Proven experience working with Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs)
  • Experience managing property investment portfolios and bookkeeping across multiple property entities
  • Demonstrated experience bookkeeping for a Philippine entity, including Philippine accounting practices, payroll, and statutory reporting (BIR)
  • Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, GST, BAS, payroll, and superannuation
  • Experience managing multiple entities across different jurisdictions
  • Excellent reconciliation, financial reporting, and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with stakeholders across Australia and the Philippines
