Job requirements
The Lead Specialist is responsible for managing complex pension administration activities, supporting clients and scheme members, and ensuring the accurate delivery of pension calculations and services. The role provides technical expertise, quality review, and coaching support to the team while maintaining compliance with scheme rules and UK pension legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle complex pension queries from clients, trustees, and scheme members via email, letter, and telephone.
- Perform and review complex pension calculations with a high level of accuracy.
- Ensure pension administration activities are processed in line with scheme rules and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and quality assurance support to team members.
- Manage errors, complaints, and escalations in accordance with established procedures.
- Support client projects, budgeting, and process improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for automation.
- Stay current with UK pensions legislation and assess the impact of regulatory changes.
Skills & Experience
- Strong Defined Benefit (DB) pension administration experience.
- Proven ability to perform and review complex pension calculations.
- Excellent knowledge of UK pensions legislation and industry practices.
- Experience working with clients and trustees.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- PMI qualification or equivalent (desirable).
