About the Role:

As a GBS Buyer 1 at CrowdStrike, you will be an integral part of our Global Business Services procurement team, supporting the day-to-day execution of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle. This is an early-career role for someone with foundational procurement experience who is ready to broaden their commodity exposure and grow into a category-facing buyer. You will independently manage transactional buying activity while partnering with senior buyers and category managers on more complex or higher-value requests.

What You'll Do:

Procurement Execution & Operations:

• Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders (POs) in line with company policy and approved documentation.

• Manage PO renewals, change orders, and closures end-to-end, escalating complex exceptions to senior team members.

• Own your requisition queue and ticket backlog, ensuring items are actioned within defined SLAs and Turnaround Times (TAT).

• Validate that requisitions contain complete and accurate documentation (quotes, approvals, cost center, GL coding) before processing.

• Identify recurring issues or bottlenecks and recommend process improvements to increase throughput and accuracy.

Sourcing Support:

• Obtain, compile, and compare vendor quotes; run basic bid comparisons for review by senior buyers or category owners.

• Perform price and catalog validation against existing contracts, price lists, and preferred supplier agreements.

• Negotiate straightforward, low-complexity spend (renewals, catalog buys, tail spend) and support senior buyers on larger negotiations to build Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) awareness.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for requesters, responding to status inquiries clearly and professionally and setting realistic expectations.

• Manage vendor onboarding, collecting required documentation and coordinating across internal teams through to activation.

• Maintain accurate vendor and procurement records in company systems, keeping data clean and audit-ready.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance

• Route agreements to Legal, InfoSec, Privacy, and Tax for review; track items to completion and follow up with suppliers on outstanding items.

• Support Accounts Payable with invoice-to-PO matching, discrepancy research, and payment resolution.

• Adhere to all corporate procurement policies, approval thresholds, and control requirements; escalate potential exceptions promptly.

Reporting

• Generate standard reports from procurement systems and support KPI, MIS, and dashboard updates.

• Track open POs, aging requisitions, and cycle-time metrics, flagging trends to the team lead.

AI requirement :

• Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes. (Create Job Requisition Event)

What You'll Need:

• Experience: 2-4 years of hands-on procurement, purchasing, or sourcing experience, ideally within a shared-services, GBS, or Center-of-Excellence environment.

• P2P Fluency: Demonstrated experience across the requisition-to-PO lifecycle, including PO creation, change orders, renewals, and three-way match concepts.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Commerce, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Systems Experience: Working proficiency in at least one procurement or ERP platform - Coupa, Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, Ariba, or Workday - plus familiarity with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.

• Excel/Sheets Skills: Solid spreadsheet capability (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic data cleanup and reconciliation).

• Commodity Exposure: Prior buying experience in one or more categories such as Software/SaaS, Hardware, IT/TechOps, Marketing, Professional Services, Facilities, or HR.

• Negotiation: Experience negotiating routine commercial terms and pricing on low-to-medium complexity spend.

• Attention to Detail: Proven accuracy and follow-through in a high-volume transactional environment.

• Communication: Clear, professional written and verbal communication with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

• Organization: Ability to manage a queue, prioritize competing requests, and consistently meet SLAs in a fast-paced setting.

• Analytical Mindset: Comfortable analyzing quotes, spend data, and pricing variances to support sourcing decisions.

• AI Acumen: Experience or strong interest in using AI tools to accelerate research, summarize contracts, and streamline repetitive workflows.

Bonus Points:

• Exposure to SaaS procurement models and subscription/renewal management.

• Familiarity with NDA/MSA workflows and standard contract terms.

• Experience supporting global or multi-region stakeholder groups across time zones.
