THE OPPORTUNITY

Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance is a critical part of operating regulated fleets safely, efficiently, and in line with applicable requirements. As Consultant, DOT Program, you will help lead the direction, governance, and continuous improvement of Element's DOT and Hazmat compliance programs across North America.

You will work at the intersection of regulatory expertise, client strategy, and operational execution, partnering with clients, vendors, sales, operations, and senior leaders to strengthen compliance processes, support client satisfaction, and contribute to program growth.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

• Manage Element's driver and vehicle compliance services program, including client consultations on DOT compliance practices, account setup, required documentation, and efficient onboarding.
• Serve as a day-to-day liaison among clients, vendors, and internal teams for DOT program activities, including escalations, billing inquiries, service support, and issues that may delay DOT-related transactions.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of DOT regulations and practices, Title department processes, and related operational procedures to help mitigate compliance risk, tax errors, and DOT audit exposure.
• Create and maintain Statements of Work in partnership with Element Legal for contracted services and serve as an internal DOT subject matter expert.
• Support business development by leading client discussions, analyzing driver and vehicle data, helping determine service offerings, contributing to requests for proposal, preparing sales presentations, and supporting DOT program pipeline and revenue growth.
• Develop training for commercial sales and Vehicle Acquisition consulting teams on DOT program offerings, regulatory changes, state-law updates, and emerging technologies in the medium- and heavy-duty truck market.
• Manage outsourced vendor relationships and service-level agreements, resolve escalations, support data accuracy and reporting, and coordinate applicable data within Xcelerate.
• Provide monthly finance data on revenue generated by contracted DOT and Transport Canada services, support audit requests, and assist with billing needs for clients, vendors, and payment teams.

YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THIS ROLE IF:

You bring strong regulatory and business judgement, clear communication, and the ability to work across clients, vendors, and internal teams in a complex operating environment.

• You have a bachelor's degree, which is preferred, or equivalent experience.
• You bring at least five to seven years of experience in the truck industry; knowledge of DOT and Transport Canada is a plus.
• You can interpret data, support report development, and manage key performance indicators.
• You bring strong business acumen and a deep understanding of product vision and business objectives.
• You communicate effectively, influence others, and use tact, discretion, and sound judgement when responding to complex requests.
• You bring strong negotiation, research, and problem-solving skills and can make independent judgements.
• You can work effectively both independently and in a team environment, prioritize competing work, and organize for efficiency.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred experience includes knowledge of DOT and Transport Canada requirements and related departmental processes that interact with fleet compliance activities.

• How you have managed a DOT, Transport Canada, fleet compliance, or related regulated-services program and resolved complex client or operational issues.
• How you have advised clients or internal partners on regulated fleet practices and translated requirements into practical actions or service solutions.
• How you have worked with vendors or outsourced providers to improve service performance, reporting accuracy, or issue resolution.
• How you have used data, KPIs, or financial reporting to monitor program performance, support decisions, or contribute to revenue growth.
• How you have supported sales, proposals, client presentations, onboarding, or training in a technical or regulated environment.

COMPENSATION

The hiring base salary range for this position is $75,500-$103,840 annually. This range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the expected base salary at the time of posting. Salary ranges may vary based on the geographic location where the work is performed. The salary range listed in this posting applies only to the location identified. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including the successful candidate's qualifications, knowledge, skills, experience, internal pay equity, and relevant market data. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may participate in annual incentive programs, including bonuses, commissions, or other incentive compensation, as applicable to the role.
