The Opportunity

As Technical Lead on the Growth team, you'll shape how new users discover, adopt and pay for Method. You'll own the technical direction behind onboarding, trial engagement and conversion, scoping projects, designing solutions and leading them from idea to production. Your success will show up in outcomes like activation and trial-to-paid conversion.

You'll also set the bar for how the team builds with AI. You'll use AI-assisted development tools to prototype and ship faster, and mentor the engineers around you to do the same, well and responsibly.

The Growth team is dedicated to helping SMBs easily sign up, find value and subscribe to Method. We drive continuous growth for our platform by maximizing conversion through seamless onboarding, trial engagement and learning key workflows. Our approach relies on ongoing experiments to test growth opportunities, optimize the early customer journey and support continued discovery.

About Method

Method is a Toronto-based company, founded in 2010, building a customizable CRM for small and mid-sized businesses. Our product connects directly with QuickBooks and Xero, automating everyday tasks like tracking leads, managing sales and staying on top of customers. We're investing in AI across our product and in how we build it.

What You'll Do

Build and experiment

• Prototype, build, experiment on and maintain onboarding and adoption experiences for new users.

• Ship partial solutions to get quick insights, then decide whether to strengthen and automate them or discard them based on what you learn.

• Move fast with mockups, POCs and rapid development, using AI-assisted tools wherever they speed things up.

• Advocate for the user, making sure our products are intuitive and easy to use.

Data and measurement

• Design and build client libraries and frameworks to log events and track user behavior accurately.

• Build data pipelines that monitor key product metrics and measure the impact of experiments.

• Integrate the parts of our experimentation infrastructure to enable measurement and personalization of user experiences.

• Work across teams to gather requirements and design shared datasets.

Lead

• Scope, design and oversee technical projects from start to finish.

• Lead and mentor a team of thoughtful, fast-moving engineers through rigorous design and code reviews.

• Set standards for developer workflows, including how the team uses AI coding tools effectively and safely: when to lean on them, how to review AI-generated code and how to keep quality high while moving faster.

• Make sound build vs. buy decisions, including third-party and AI-powered tools.

• Help hire and grow the team.

Our stack: C#, .NET, SQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, React and AWS (including SQS).

Analytics and engagement tools: Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Segment, Amplitude, Intercom, Appcues and Datadog.

What You Bring

Must-haves

• 5–7+ years of software development experience, ideally on production applications.

• 1–3 years of technical leadership experience, such as Lead Developer, Principal Engineer or Tech Lead on significant, complex projects.

• Full stack experience with C#/.NET, SQL and React, or comparable technologies.

• A strong background in data engineering, analytics and A/B testing. You've designed experiments, instrumented them and made product decisions from the results.

• Expertise in rapid prototyping, mockups and POCs.

• Hands-on, daily use of AI-assisted development tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot), and a clear point of view on how to use them well on a team.

• A strong focus on user experience and usability.

How you lead

• You make and communicate sound technical trade-offs, leading through influence.

• You create clarity from ambiguity and mentor developers through rigorous design and code reviews.

• You help engineers get real value from AI tools, coaching them on good habits instead of just handing them a license.

• You turn incidents and delivery problems into lasting improvements for the platform and the team.

Nice to have

• Experience with analytics and engagement tools like Segment, Amplitude, Google Analytics, Intercom or Appcues.

• Experience rolling out AI development tools or practices across an engineering team.

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent training or experience.

What to Expect in Your First 90 Days

• First 30 days: Understand the architecture, customer workflows, team and risks.

• By 60 days: Lead the technical design and delivery of a priority initiative.

• By 90 days: Ship a measurable improvement, set technical direction, actively mentor the team and introduce at least one improvement to how the team works with AI tools.

Job type: Full-time, permanent.

Compensation: $120,000 – $144,000 per year.
