Job Role: Technical Lead
Compensation range: $2,500 AUD - $3,000 AUD / Monthly
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

They support clients across IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and ongoing technical support, while also helping them plan and deliver technology projects. With a focus on proactive IT management rather than simply fixing problems when they arise, they work closely with businesses to improve their systems, reduce risks, and make technology work better for the organisation.
Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior Technical Lead to oversee the design, implementation, security, and delivery of IT solutions across client environments. This role combines technical leadership, project delivery, cybersecurity, complex troubleshooting, and process improvement, requiring someone who can make sound technical decisions, lead implementations, and take ownership of critical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement IT infrastructure solutions based on client requirements.
- Lead technical projects from planning through implementation and handover.
- Resolve complex infrastructure, systems, networking, cloud, and security issues.
- Act as the senior escalation point for technical issues.
- Assess security risks and implement appropriate cybersecurity controls.
- Guide engineers on complex technical tasks and solutions.
- Work with clients to understand requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
- Maintain technical documentation, project records, and system standards.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve service processes.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, technical consulting, or a similar role.
- Experience working in an MSP, IT solutions, or similar technology services environment.
- Proven experience in infrastructure design and implementation.
- Strong cybersecurity and risk management experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading and delivering IT projects.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience handling complex technical escalations and operational support.
- Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring to IT professionals.
- Working knowledge of cloud, networking, systems, and modern IT infrastructure.
- Experience with automation or scripting is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients and technical teams.
