LeanApps is a Keylane application used in the Life & Pension domain and delivered as part of a secure SaaS landscape. It relies on a robust enterprise technology stack, including Oracle WebLogic as the web application server, Oracle Database, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Java and automated operations tooling.
As a Senior Technical Application Engineer in the LeanApps TAM team, you are one of the key experts responsible for the stability, security and performance of the LeanApps application for multiple Life & Pension customers.
In this senior role you:
- Take ownership of complex incidents and problems on the LeanApps application, acting as a technical escalation point for colleagues and stakeholders.
- Guard and improve application uptime and resilience, implementing structural fixes and preventive measures for issues such as disk capacity problems, CPU bottlenecks, WebLogic availability issues and database performance bottlenecks.
- Design, plan and execute patching and upgrade cycles for the underlying technology stack, including Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Database, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8/9, Java and related components, balancing risk, downtime and compliance requirements.
- Manage the full lifecycle of client and server certificates, including planning renewals, coordinating with customers and ensuring secure deployment across environments.
- Oversee web application and integration provisioning on WebLogic, including network/security configurations, whitelisting, deployments and end-to-end technical validation.
- Drive capacity management and monitoring: tuning thresholds, improving dashboards and automating responses where possible across Linux, WebLogic, Java and Oracle components.
- Play a key role in external audits, penetration tests and disaster recovery/failover tests: preparing evidence, leading technical execution, and following up on remediation actions.
- Contribute to the standardization and automation of TAM processes, including runbooks, shell scripts, Python tooling and configuration management with Ansible or Puppet where applicable.
- Work closely with product development, SaaS platform teams, database specialists and customer teams to align on changes, releases and longer-term roadmap items.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge through documentation, pair troubleshooting and knowledge sessions.
- You are comfortable making decisions in complex situations, keeping the overview under pressure and balancing customer expectations, security and operational risk.

Requirements
You recognize yourself in the following profile:
- You have at least a completed HBO Beta or academic degree in an IT-related field.
- You have 5+ years of experience in technical application management, infrastructure engineering or a similar role managing business-critical applications.
- You have strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database, including performance analysis, troubleshooting, connectivity and operational support.
- You are proficient with Oracle WebLogic as a web application server and understand how it interacts with Java applications, Linux, networks, security components and the application layer.
- ·You have practical experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 or 9, security hardening, patching and vulnerability management, especially in regulated or audited environments.
- You are familiar with certificates (PKI), networking and firewalls, and know how to work with concepts like whitelisting, proxies and load balancers.
- You can script and automate with shell scripting and Python, and you are comfortable working with monitoring and deployment tools.
- Experience with Ansible or Puppet is a strong plus; experience in the financial services or pension/insurance domain is also valuable.
- You are analytical, structured and pragmatic, able to quickly understand complex situations and define clear next steps.
- You are a communicative team player: you work closely with colleagues and stakeholders, and can translate technical issues into business impact.
- You are willing to work outside regular office hours and to participate in the standby/on-call rota.

- A monthly gross salary between € 4.250 and € 5.000 based on 40 hours per week.
- 8% holiday allowance of your total gross salary.
