Sobre este puesto de Senior Accountant en Bluecatnetworks

Bluecatnetworks · Híbrido · Toronto Office
We're BlueCat—a Great Place to Work for good reason. Our team solves critical network challenges for some of the world's largest organizations. In simple terms, we manage the systems that keep networks running smoothly, securely, and reliably—the backbone infrastructure that powers digital transformation for enterprises globally. Our Intelligent Network Operations platform delivers and enables AI-driven agentic ops at scale, automating and simplifying how companies manage, secure, and optimize their networks.

But what makes us different is how we work: we believe great work happens in an environment where you're trusted, heard, and supported. With teams globally, we're building a workplace culture that values collaboration and integrity as much as innovation. If you're looking to advance your career with a company that invests in its people, this is it.

We are seeking a skilled and curious Senior Accountant to join our dynamic Finance Department. This role is a key member of the Group Accounting team, responsible for the financial operations across all subsidiaries within the BlueCat group. • CPA or similar designation - 1 year post-qualified minimum, audit background is an asset
  • US GAAP experience preferred
  • Proven track record of GL cleanup and process improvements
  • Strong curiosity and initiative, with a habit of researching independently before escalating
  • Genuine interest in using AI tools to automate routine work and sharpen analysis
  • Excellent Excel skills and comfort learning new systems (NetSuite experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines, especially around quarter- and year-end close
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to the team

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close, including but not limited to fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals
  • Own the processes end-to-end, including evaluating and improving current processes and procedures
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations with supporting subledger maintenance and tie-outs
  • Investigate and resolve outstanding GL and subledger discrepancies, including legacy acquisition-related entries
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Review financial data for accuracy; identify problems and support day-to-day operations
  • Review and mentor the staff accountant, providing day-to-day guidance and feedback
  • Support additional balance sheet areas as team responsibilities evolve, with opportunities to take on more as the team grows
  • Assist in ad-hoc reporting and projects
  • Support the annual audit by preparing supporting schedules and selection support, as well as any tax support requested
  • Assist in identifying areas for process improvements including process automation and participate in the implementation of those improvements (including UAT)
