About This Job
The Intermediate Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is responsible for supporting and improving the reliability, availability, and performance of critical banking applications and services. This role works closely with business stakeholders, developers, infrastructure teams, vendors, and support partners to investigate issues, drive resolutions, improve monitoring, and implement operational efficiencies.Success in this role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills, curiosity, and a willingness to continuously learn new technologies and business processes. Technical aptitude is important, but the ability to think critically, collaborate effectively, and take ownership of problems is equally important.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in production support activities for business-critical applications, services, and integrations.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application, system, and service issues across multiple environments.
- Monitor application and infrastructure health, analyze alerts, and identify opportunities to improve monitoring coverage.
- Work collaboratively with business users, developers, infrastructure teams, vendors, and support partners to drive issue resolution and project implementation.
- Perform system maintenance, configuration changes, and operational support activities.
- Implement fixes, configuration updates, and operational improvements for internally developed and vendor-supported applications.
- Track, document, and communicate technical issues, risks, and remediation efforts.
- Analyze trends, recurring incidents, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for stability and performance improvements.
- Participate in release validation, testing support, and change management activities.
- Contribute to automation initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, support procedures, troubleshooting guides, and system runbooks.
- Assist in gathering and documenting business and technical requirements for system enhancements and operational improvements.
- Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
- Support project initiatives by conducting research, analysis, testing, documentation, and operational readiness activities.
- Participate in incident response activities, bridge calls, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvement efforts.
- Continuously learn new technologies, platforms, and business processes to expand support capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Experience using ticketing, incident management, or change management systems.
- Experience supporting web applications, APIs, SFTP, and enterprise software platforms.
- Experience supporting pipelines via ADO/GitHub.
- Experience supporting a Windows server environment.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
- Experience reviewing logs and troubleshooting production incidents.
- Basic understanding of networking, servers, cloud platforms, databases, and application architecture.
- Experience with scripting, automation, or process improvement initiatives is a plus.
