Job Description Summary

Organization's Summary Statement:
The Development Program Manager is an important partner in expanding the scope and impact of fundraising and engagement efforts with alumni, parents, friends, faculty, industry partners and donors. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer in the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (MAPP), the Program Manager will enhance alumni relations and development efforts through meaningful and creative engagement, events, outreach, volunteer management, and stewardship. The Program Manager will collaborate with program directors, the university's central Donor Relations and Stewardship team, the Alumni Association, and other internal partners in planning, developing, and managing projects and initiatives that help grow our networks, our prospect pipeline and build connection to our mission. The Program Manager serves as staff lead for the MAPP+D Alumni Network, as secretary for the Board of Visitors, and assists with all Board committees. They will lead stewardship efforts including an annual donor recognition event, donor acknowledgements, and scholarship reports. They will lead and execute a significant number of alumni and professional-related events that are critical for positioning the school for a successful Campaign. The Program Manager will lead Giving Day and other annual giving efforts for the school, and serve as primary liaison to Broad Based Campaigns and Strategic Engagement (BCSE). They will also partner with ARCH communications staff on event invitations, digital outreach, donor recognition opportunities, and stewardship. The program manager will work closely with student affairs, the business office and the Dean’s office on various initiatives. This individual will oversee the day-to-day operations of the MAPP development office, and serve as unit expert for systems and best practices related to data management, budget management, scholarship administration, stewardship, annual giving, and engagement.

Preferences:
-Experience using donor contact management systems, such as Blackbaud and Salesforce
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Experience with volunteer management, event planning, and budget management.

Physical Demands:
-Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
-Ability to work some evenings and weekends as necessary
-Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds
-Some local and out of state travel

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three (3) years of professional scholarship activities, gift administration, stewardship, or donor relations experience.

Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of donor & alumni related policies and procedures, and federal, state, and other applicable related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
