Cardinal Health Canada, with over 1,300 employees nationwide, is an essential link in the Canadian healthcare supply chain, providing over 70,000 products to healthcare facilities and medical professionals across the country.

Cardinal Health Canada is seeking a Customer Contract Specialist to manage customer agreements across the Canadian business portfolio. The Specialist helps ensure contracts are commercially sound, compliant, and aligned with business objectives while supporting revenue growth, risk mitigation, and customer satisfaction.

This position is a two-day hybrid role, reporting to our Vaughan Head Office.

The Specialist reviews, drafts, negotiates, executes, and manages agreements in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders. The role conducts contractual risk assessments, supports RFx activities, coordinates complex amendments and renewals, advises on contractual obligations, and serves as a power user of the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform. Through contract and portfolio analysis, the Specialist strengthens decision-making, governance, and operational efficiency.

Your Contributions to the Organization:

  • Lead the review, drafting, redlining, and management of RFx agreement templates, customer contracts, and related commercial documents to identify obligations, commercial considerations, risks, timelines, and approval requirements and develop informed recommendations

  • Support contract negotiations, track open issues, and collaborate with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders on complex provisions, non-standard terms, risk assessments, approvals, execution, and ongoing contract management

  • Manage complex post-award matters, including strategic renewals, escalated amendments, contract interpretation, obligation reviews, compliance concerns, material changes, and issues requiring business or Legal review

  • Monitor renewals, expirations, notice periods, obligations, amendments, and contractual milestones to support proactive management, timely stakeholder action, compliance, and risk reduction

  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready contract records, metadata, milestones, and supporting documentation in CLM, Salesforce, SharePoint, and other applicable systems in accordance with governance, confidentiality, and compliance requirements

  • Serve as a CLM power user by supporting templates, clause libraries, workflows, metadata standards, reporting, governance, automation, and system enhancements in partnership with administrators, IT, and business stakeholders

  • Produce contract lifecycle reporting and analyze portfolio trends, renewal pipelines, compliance metrics, and contract data to improve visibility, decision-making, operational efficiency, risk reduction, and business outcomes

  • Partner with the Contract Management team and cross-functional stakeholders to transition post-award administration effectively, maintain ownership of complex contractual matters and escalations, improve contracting processes and stakeholder experience, and support departmental projects and strategic priorities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, legal studies, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience, preferred

  • 4 to 8 years of experience in contract management, commercial or healthcare contracting, legal operations, sales operations, or a related business function, preferred

  • Demonstrated experience with RFx and commercial agreement processes, including contract review, drafting, redlining, negotiation support, contract lifecycle management, and stakeholder coordination in a commercial or regulated environment

  • Strong ability to interpret contractual terms, obligations, and commercial requirements; assess contractual, operational, financial, and compliance risks; and recommend or escalate appropriate actions that balance business objectives and risk mitigation

  • Strong negotiation, relationship-building, written communication, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate risks, obligations, business impacts, and recommendations

  • Experience using Contract Lifecycle Management systems and related business applications to support templates, workflows, reporting, governance, and continuous improvement; proficiency with Salesforce, SharePoint, Adobe, or similar applications is considered an asset

  • Strong analytical capabilities and experience reviewing contract data, compliance metrics, renewal pipelines, and performance information to support decision-making

  • Solution-oriented, collaborative, and customer-focused approach with a commitment to accountability and continuous improvement

  • Experience in healthcare, medical devices, healthcare distribution, group purchasing organizations, or another regulated industry is considered an asset

  • Professional certification or development toward NCMA, CPCM, CCCM, PMP, or a related credential is considered an asset

Anticipated pay range: $81,300 - $108,300

This role is eligible for a performance-based annual bonus. Bonus awards are not guaranteed and are determined based on individual performance, company performance, and other business factors, in accordance with the company’s bonus plan.
