We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically proficient CAD Modeler with hands-on expertise in Siemens NX to create accurate, high-quality 3D models and engineering drawings for product development and manufacturing requirements.
The role involves converting engineering concepts, specifications, sketches, and design requirements into precise CAD models while ensuring dimensional accuracy, manufacturability, and adherence to established engineering standards. The ideal candidate will have strong fundamentals in mechanical design, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Create accurate 3D CAD models using Siemens NX based on engineering specifications, sketches, drawings, and design requirements.
- Develop and modify mechanical components, assemblies, and product models according to project requirements.
- Prepare and update 2D engineering drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, annotations, and other manufacturing information.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, design concepts, and product requirements.
- Ensure CAD models and drawings meet defined engineering, dimensional, and documentation standards.
- Make design modifications and incorporate engineering change requests accurately and within required timelines.
- Develop assemblies and ensure proper component relationships, fit, and alignment.
- Perform basic model and drawing checks to identify dimensional, geometric, or documentation errors.
- Maintain accurate CAD files, drawing revisions, design documentation, and related engineering records.
- Collaborate with design engineers and manufacturing teams to resolve modelling and drawing-related issues.
- Support design reviews and incorporate feedback from engineers and other technical stakeholders.
- Ensure models are suitable for downstream manufacturing, tooling, fabrication, or production requirements.
- Follow established CAD modelling practices, naming conventions, file structures, and revision-control procedures.
- Support engineering change management and maintain consistency between 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Assist with design documentation and other CAD-related engineering activities as required.
- Continuously improve modelling accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to engineering best practices.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 1+ years of professional experience in CAD modelling, mechanical design, engineering drafting, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in Siemens NX for 3D modelling and design development.
- Good understanding of mechanical components, assemblies, and product design fundamentals.
- Experience creating and modifying 3D parts and assemblies using Siemens NX.
- Knowledge of preparing and interpreting 2D engineering drawings.
- Understanding of dimensions, tolerances, fits, and basic GD&T concepts.
- Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, sketches, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on dimensional accuracy and design quality.
- Ability to implement design changes and revisions accurately.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with engineering change processes, document control, and revision management.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively with design engineers, manufacturing teams, and other technical stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple CAD tasks and deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, CAD/CAM, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
- A strong willingness to learn, improve Siemens NX expertise, and develop broader mechanical design capabilities.
