We are looking for an experienced Senior US Accountant to take ownership of the complete accounting cycle for a growing US-based business. This is a high-ownership role covering general ledger accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of US accounting principles, hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO), and the ability to independently manage accurate, organised, and audit-ready financial records.

Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate and complete accounting records.
- Manage accounting activities in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Review and approve customer invoices and ensure accurate billing records.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR), including customer balances, aging analysis, collections, and follow-ups.
- Oversee Accounts Payable (AP), including vendor invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment scheduling.
- Perform regular bank and account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Manage journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and other general accounting activities.
- Lead and coordinate the month-end close process within defined timelines.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Review financial data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Ensure accounting documentation is properly organised and maintained for audit and compliance requirements.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and work with relevant stakeholders to resolve them promptly.
- Maintain appropriate supporting documentation for financial transactions and account balances.
- Support financial analysis and reporting requirements as needed.
- Ensure accounting processes follow applicable US accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders regarding accounting and financial matters.
- Continuously improve accounting processes, controls, reconciliations, and reporting workflows.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 4+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a closely related function.
- Strong practical knowledge of US accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Strong experience managing the full accounting cycle, including GL, AP, AR, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Experience working with US-based companies or clients is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and ensure timely resolution.
- Strong understanding of accounting controls and audit-ready documentation.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of accounting processes.
- Ability to work consistently during the US shift: 4:30 PM to 1:30 AM IST.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines, priorities, and month-end closing activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline is preferred.
