Sobre esta vaga de Head of Growth Marketing na Firecrawl
Head of Growth Marketing
You'll own the growth engine behind how Firecrawl acquires and activates users, across content, SEO/GEO, product marketing, paid, partnerships, social, and emerging agent-first distribution channels. This is a technical, operator-first role. You'll own growth marketing strategy and execution across every channel, including which channels to scale and which to kill, and you'll run the operating system behind our signup growth: pacing, channel mix, performance diagnosis, prioritization, hiring, and team execution. You'll work closely with Eric Ciarla, our CGO, who owns narrative, launches, and open source, while you own building and running the machine that turns growth into a number that moves every single week.
Salary Range: $247,000–$323,000 USD/year
Equity Range: Competitive equity. Details shared during the process.
Location: San Francisco, CA (SF HQ). On-site, five days a week.
Job Type: Full-Time
Experience: 2–3+ years in growth or marketing at an open source company, ready to step up to a head-of role. This is a level-up hire, not a lateral move for an existing VP.
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States. We're not able to sponsor US visas right now, though that may change down the line.
About Firecrawl
Firecrawl is the easiest way to turn the web into data AI agents can use. One API call converts any URL into clean, LLM-ready markdown or structured data. It's the boring-hard problem everyone building with LLMs eventually hits, solved.
We hit 8 figures in ARR in year one and more than doubled it in year two. We have 180k+ GitHub stars, putting us in the top 50 repositories of all time, and developers, agents, and category-defining AI companies build on us every day. Growth like this is rare, and we're just getting started.
We're a small team punching far above our weight, working out of SF HQ and our new Toronto Hub. Everyone here owns a real piece of the product and company, end to end, and runs it themselves. No hiding behind process or headcount.
This is a place for people who want to work at the frontier: an AI company building the infrastructure other AI companies run on, not one bolting AI onto an existing product. We move fast, go deep, and are building the tools superintelligence will rely on to gather data from the web.
What You'll Do
Own weekly signup pacing and growth across core acquisition channels. You're accountable to the number, not just the strategy
Own growth marketing strategy and execution end to end, including the call on which channels to scale and which to kill
Build a defensible signup mix across SEO/GEO, partnerships, brand, paid, and other durable channels that compound over time
Take over our paid ads program and the agency running it: audit it in your first month and decide to scale, fix, or end it
Inherit and keep building a real team (product marketing, SEO with hires coming under it, paid, and YouTube), hiring community-first as you grow it
Run cross-channel planning, prioritization, and execution across content, PMM, partnerships, brand, and distribution
Run weekly performance reviews: diagnose misses, identify what's working, and ship corrective action plans fast
Partner with product and engineering on activation, onboarding, and growth constraints that live outside marketing's direct control
What We're Looking For
Growth experience at an actual open source company. This is the hard requirement. Devtools or API-first alone isn't it. We need someone who's run growth where the product is open source and the audience found you through the repo
A true operator, not a strategist. You've owned a growth number before, not advised on one. You know the difference between a channel that's underperforming and a channel that needs to be killed, and you make that call without waiting for someone else to tell you
You can walk through experiments you've run, one that worked and one that didn't, with the numbers and what you changed after
Strong management instincts. You can run a team with a mix of channel specialists, create cadence, drive accountability, and keep everyone moving in the same direction without needing perfect information to do it
Fluent in modern distribution. SEO/GEO, content, paid, product launches, AI-native discovery. You have real operational depth across multiple channels, not just talking points
Good messaging taste. You're not a pure brand specialist, but you know what good looks like and can hold a high bar across everything that goes out without being the bottleneck
Comfortable working directly with founders. No committee, no approval layers. You'll have a direct line to Eric and be expected to push back, make calls, and own the outcome
Backgrounds that often do well: a growth or marketing manager who spent 2–3 years at an open source company and is ready to step up, an early marketing leader at a PLG SaaS startup, a founder-marketer who built a growth engine from scratch.
What We're NOT Looking For
Big-title VPs looking for a lateral move
Growth or marketing leaders who are great at strategy decks and weak on execution, or who treat execution as beneath them
People who need a fully-staffed team under them before they can move the needle
Anyone who mistakes activity (campaigns launched, emails sent, content published) for growth
A Note On Pace
We operate at an absurd level of urgency because the window for what we're building won't stay open forever. If that excites you, keep reading. If it doesn't, no hard feelings, but this role probably isn't for you.

Interview Process
Application Review: Send us your work: a growth channel or system you've owned, a team you've built, or a number you've hit. Include one experiment that worked and one that didn't, with the numbers and what you changed after. Plus a quick note on what you'd want to understand about Firecrawl's current growth before you started.
Intro Chat (~25 min): A quick conversation to get to know each other before we go deep. We'll talk about what you've built, how you run channel teams, and what you'd prioritize first. Time for your questions too.
Deep Dive Chat (~60 min): Walk us through a real example: a time you ran a multi-channel growth operation and had to diagnose and recover from a miss, including a channel you decided to kill and why. Then a live scenario: how would you build a defensible signup mix for Firecrawl from where we are today? Come ready to think out loud. We care how you reason, not whether you have a rehearsed answer.
Founder Chat (~25 min): Culture, pace, ownership, and how you like to work. Time for your questions too.
Paid Work Trial (~40 Hours): Dig into a real growth problem with the team: audit our current channel mix, including the paid program, identify the biggest lever, and present a 30-day plan. Paid at a contractor rate. We evaluate on how you diagnose, how you prioritize, and whether your plan would actually move the number. Remote-friendly, and we'll flex around your current commitments.
Decision: We move fast after the trial.
If you want to own the growth machine behind one of the fastest-growing developer tools on the internet, and you're ready to be accountable to the number, not just advise on it, this is your shot.
