We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!

 

This role sits in the Commerce Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) specifically supporting Ecommerce , Consumer Products within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with Commerce Engineering and Consumer Products Technology teams from across the company.

 

The Lead Site Reliability Engineer will report to the Manager of Site Reliability Engineering.

 

About The Role & Team:

  • Join the Commerce Site Reliability Engineering team as a Lead SRE, supporting Ecommerce, Consumer Products, Licensing and Publishing, and Consumer Production platforms at Disney Experiences. You will drive best-in-class infrastructure improvements, implement industry-leading observability strategies, and champion a DevOps culture across multi-cloud environments spanning AWS, Azure, and GCP. In this role, you will partner with engineering and product teams to lead large-scale project delivery, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical commerce platforms.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and scale a DevOps culture across Commerce and Consumer Production engineering teams, mentoring engineers on observability practices to reduce MTTR and improve application stability.
  • Lead the design, build, and support of products platforms
  • Consult, design, build, and support development pipelines, automate infrastructure and operations, create telemetry for monitoring, engineer high reliability and reinforce best- practices to secure company data
  • Expertise in systems administration skills on Linux, Containers, AWS, Azure, and GCP, and must have extensive experience with web technologies, source control management using Git, cloud hosting, and container scheduling
  • Guide systems administration in systems administration requirements in Linux and Windows platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP and bring knowledge on systems, network, operational excellence and application stability, security, performance, and capacity management, operational excellence and application stability, security, performance, and capacity management, as well as documentation
  • Help engage around the estimation and planning of highly sophisticated scalable projects and their budget allocations
  • You will be expected to stay up to date with emerging technologies so you can make informed recommendations

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of related work experience
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment
  • Proficient in implementing observability principles and advanced tools for system enhancement, applying expertise in major APM tools
  • Advanced expertise in CI tools such as Gitlab, AWS CodeBuild, Azure DevOps, with configuration optimization
  • Mastery in configuration management using Terraform, Ansible, Chef for scalable infrastructure design
  • Fluent in core scripting languages and advanced programming skills (Python, NodeJS, Golang), experienced with Linux, CLI's, and code editors like VS Code
  • Skilled in Source Control Management systems like Github and Gitlab, managing users, and repos, proficient in networking protocols, distributed systems, and container platforms (e.g., Docker, ECS)
  • Expertise in cloud hosting services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), databases, tools, and security, with experience in CI pipelines, build tools like Jenkins, RESTful web service calls, and JSON
  • Outstanding troubleshooting methodology, including instructing new methodologies to the team and evaluating new systems and infrastructure solutions for technical feasibility against standards
  • Proficient in using AI engines to analyze monitoring tool data for system reliability and performance
  • A visionary who motivates teams to excel and fosters creativity, consistently driving excellence in all endeavors
  • An advocate for a diverse and inclusive culture that encourages innovation and ensures every team member feels a sense of belonging

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Harness CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation tooling
  • Hands-on expertise across multi-cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Experience supporting large-scale ecommerce or consumer-facing platforms
  • Familiarity with observability platforms such as Appdynamics, Splunk, Datadog, New Relic, or Dynatrace
  • Demonstrated success leading large project efforts across cross-functional engineering teams

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Lake Buena Vista, FL is $148,300 - $198,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
