Role Overview

MATTE is seeking a Digital Designer to join our CDMX creative team in a full-time contract capacity. This role is for a digitally focused designer who combines strong visual craft with an understanding of how brands come to life across websites, digital campaigns, social platforms, content, and interactive experiences.

The Digital Designer will collaborate with creative directors, designers, strategists, producers, and developers across MATTE’s Mexico City and New York teams. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in Figma, comfortable building scalable digital design systems, and able to carry work from early concepting through production-ready execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design digital experiences across websites, landing pages, campaigns, social platforms, presentations, and other interactive touchpoints.
• Translate brand identities and creative concepts into thoughtful, engaging digital experiences.
• Develop scalable design systems, component libraries, templates, and guidelines that maintain consistency across platforms.
• Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma.
• Partner with developers to ensure designs are technically feasible and accurately implemented.
• Prepare organized, production-ready design files and specifications for development handoff.
• Support the ongoing design, maintenance, and evolution of MATTE’s website and other owned digital platforms.
• Collaborate with brand, experiential, content, and strategy teams to extend creative ideas across digital channels.
• Contribute to concept development and present design thinking clearly to internal teams and clients.
• Incorporate motion, interaction, and emerging technology into digital work where appropriate.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of creative craft and attention to detail.
• Stay current on digital design trends, emerging platforms, AI tools, and evolving web technologies.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3–5 years of experience in digital, web, brand, or product design.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating digital design, visual systems, responsive web experiences, and campaign work.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, auto layout, prototyping, and shared libraries.
• Strong command of typography, composition, color, hierarchy, and visual storytelling.
• Experience designing responsive websites and collaborating with developers.
• Working knowledge of UX principles, accessibility, and digital design best practices.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with motion design, After Effects, 3D, generative AI, or creative coding is a plus.
• Experience with Webflow, Framer, or similar website-building platforms is strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, particularly within remote and cross-functional teams.
• Professional fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with international teams or global brands is a plus.

Contract Structure

This is a remote, full-time contract position for an individual based in Mexico. The contractor is expected to maintain full-time availability and work as an embedded member of MATTE’s creative team. Specific contract length, invoicing requirements, and renewal terms will be outlined in the applicable services agreement.

Compensation: $3,000-$4,000/month
