Job Opportunity: Contract HR Manager with Huckleberry House in Columbus, OH

As the Contract Human Resources Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of the organization's human resources function. This role serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and is responsible for ensuring effective HR programs and practices across recruitment, benefits, compensation, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and workforce planning.

Other Responsibilities Include:

• Lead and manage HR programs that align with organizational objectives and employment law requirements.
• Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives.
• Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and employee transition processes.
• Advise managers on hiring decisions, employee classifications, compensation, and performance matters.
• Manage employee benefits programs, including vendor relationships, open enrollment, retirement plan administration, and compliance.
• Oversee performance management processes, including evaluations, corrective action, and performance improvement plans.
• Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, policy interpretation, and workplace concerns.
• Conduct exit interviews, analyze employee feedback trends, and recommend improvements to leadership.
• Oversee payroll administration and ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations.
• Develop, update, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook content.
• Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of HR records and HRIS systems.
• Manage HR vendors and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Lead special projects and committees, including employee recognition and engagement initiatives.

Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Payroll Experience with Paylocity strongly preferred.
• Progressive human resources experience with strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
• Experience administering HR programs across the full employee lifecycle.
• Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Experience with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complex HR matters.
• HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) preferred.
