CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY – Software Pricing Consultant - KPI SOLUTIONS

Contract Duration: 3-6 months | Schedule: Full-time contract assignment | Location: Remote

KPI Solutions is seeking a Software Pricing Consultant for a remote contract opportunity expected to last approximately three to six months. This individual will help strengthen pricing strategy, support complex software deals, and develop practical pricing tools and processes that can continue to support the business after the engagement.

Important experience requirement: This position requires direct experience with software or SaaS pricing. Candidates whose pricing experience is primarily within consumer-packaged goods (CPG) will not be the right match for this assignment.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate and improve software pricing and packaging models, including subscription, usage-based, tiered, platform, and hybrid pricing.
• Build financial models to assess the impact of pricing decisions on revenue, margins, retention, and growth.
• Support complex and nonstandard software agreements, including enterprise contracts, renewals, migrations, and multiyear arrangements.
• Review pricing, margins, discounts, and commercial terms to support sound business decisions.
• Help establish or improve price books, rate cards, discount guidelines, and approval processes.
• Analyze pricing performance, discount leakage, competitive positioning, and related trends.
• Partner with Sales, Finance, Product, and leadership to present recommendations and support implementation.
• Document pricing policies, processes, and recommendations for continued use following the engagement.

What We're Looking For

• Five or more years of experience in pricing strategy, deal desk, revenue operations, FP&A, or strategy consulting.
• Direct pricing experience supporting software or SaaS products.
• Strong financial modeling skills using Excel or Google Sheets.
• Understanding of SaaS metrics such as ARR, NRR, ACV, gross margin, churn, and customer lifetime value.
• Familiarity with subscription, perpetual, consumption-based, and self-service software licensing models.
• Experience supporting complex deals and partnering with senior sales leaders.
• Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, executive-ready recommendations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment.

Helpful Experience

• Experience with Salesforce CPQ, DealHub, Zuora, or a similar platform.
• Experience conducting software pricing research or competitive benchmarking.
• Experience helping an organization transition between pricing or monetization models.
• Knowledge of SQL, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
• Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition considerations.
