Your Role at impact.com
Spot Commerce Media places ads for some of the world’s most recognised retail brands- Disney+, The Home Depot, Nordstrom, Ulta Beauty- inside high-intent commerce content on publishers like CNN, Parade, and USA Today. We’re not a round-robin ad network. Every ad decision matters. Our north star metrics are ROAS, eCPM, and CTR, and we operate in a daily-cadence, data-driven environment where campaigns are reviewed, adjusted, and optimized every single day.
What You'll Do
Own a portfolio of campaigns end-to-end
- Set up, manage, and optimise CPC and display campaigns across Spot’s publisher and advertiser network
- Review campaign performance daily- eCPM, CTR, revenue per click, ROAS- and make decisions without waiting for a weekly review
- Kill or throttle underperforming creatives proactively (e.g. any creative below 0.1% CTR with no conversions)
- Raise or lower CPC bids based on performance signals, not just budget pacing
Think like a retailer, not just a media buyer
- Understand why a campaign is or isn’t converting- is it the creative, the category targeting, the publisher, the product, the price, or the timing?
- Know when a sale, a seasonal moment, free shipping, or scarcity messaging will move a consumer- and brief accordingly
- Understand how brand recognition, product category, and consumer intent interact to drive click-through and purchase
Own contextual targeting and ad relevance
- Review URL-to-campaign matching daily to ensure ads are contextually relevant to the pages they appear on
- Manage category targeting segments (L1/L2/L3)- identify gaps, flag mismatches, and work with the data team to improve classification
- Understand the difference between run-of-site and targeted campaigns, and know when each is appropriate
Build and own your reporting
- Build and maintain your own campaign performance dashboards and daily reports
- Identify data anomalies (double-counting, impression discrepancies, attribution gaps) and flag them clearly
- Create custom reports for advertisers and internal stakeholders; communicate performance with confidence
Collaborate across the team
- Work daily with the Director of Media Services, ad ops, and data teams
- Brief copywriters and creative resources; give clear, specific direction on ad copy, image sizing, and CTA hierarchy
- Communicate clearly with brands and agencies when needed - you can explain what’s happening and why
What You Bring
Experience
- 3+ years of campaign management experience - CPC and display advertising required
- Demonstrated ability to run a book of campaigns independently with your own daily workflows
- Evidence of improving advertiser ROAS and publisher yield over time
Technical skills
- Strong command of eCPM, viewable vs. non-viewable impressions, CTR, revenue per click and ROAS
- Comfortable building reports in spreadsheets and ad platforms
- Familiar with contextual targeting, category-based audience segmentation, and ad relevance principles
Retail and consumer instinct - this is what sets you apart
- You understand how pricing, promotion, scarcity and brand recognition drive consumer behaviour online
- You know that a “60% off Birkenstock” ad on a fashion article will outperform a generic brand awareness ad - and you know why
- You think about the consumer journey: what they’re reading, what they’re likely to buy, and what message will move them
- You understand that category mix on a publisher (beauty vs. tech vs. home) directly determines which brands will perform that day
Mindset
- Data-driven and proactive - you flag problems before being asked, not after
- Comfortable in a high-cadence operations environment (daily reviews, daily decisions)
- Curious and eager to learn- this is a fast-moving, early-stage commerce media business working with some of the world’s biggest retail brands
- Detail-oriented: ad copy standards, image specs, CTA hierarchy- you care about the craft
Why This Role
- You’ll work directly with brands like Nordstrom, Disney+, Ulta Beauty, and The Home Depot. You’ll have real autonomy to optimise how you see fit. You’ll be part of a small, high-output team building something genuinely new in commerce media- and you’ll learn more about retail advertising, consumer psychology, and performance marketing here than almost anywhere else.
