Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop the skills necessary to become proficient in industrial automation and electrification domain with focus to automation systems. Each day, you will gain required knowledge and skills through vocational training and share time between school/college and ABB. You will also develop your expertise through hands on tasks by collaborating on real industrial projects, including engineering and commissioning activities.

The work model for the role is: #LI-hybrid.

This role is contributing to the Automation Process Industries division in Zagreb, Croatia.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Executing given tasks proactively and diligently, efficiently and with sense of ownership and ensuring on-time delivery. Mainly referring to control systems (PLC, HMI…).
• Observing the overall process and trends across inquiries, identifying improvement areas, and collaborating with internal resources to implement them.
• Following instructions, practicing your skills, and seeking feedback to ensure your progress.
• Participating in regular meetings and training sessions to stay up to date on company policies, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications for the role

• You hold a degree or you study electrical engineering, automation, mechatronic, robotic or similar.
• You enjoy working with automation systems (PLC, HMI) or programming solutions for concrete problems? Maybe you are enthusiastic about electrical machines and electric drives? Afterall, you are highly motivated  to develop in the field of industrial automation.
• Ability to demonstrate your knowledge, problem solving orientation, your curiosity and  motivation.
• Possess an enhanced knowledge of electrical engineering, programming, electrical machines, physics. You can go along with both, hardware and the software, you are not afraid of C++ or Python, but also not from electrical schematics.
• You are passionate about new technologies and innovation, are open to learn and to adopt to new stuff.
• You are at ease communicating in English language, good written and spoken communication skills.
• Knowledge of electrical design (autocad, eplan), knowledge of MS windows administration, virtualization, networking and cyber security will be considered as a plus.
