We are looking for a Senior Tracking Software Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Washington DC. In this role, you will lead the development of advanced 2D and 3D tracking algorithms that maintain custody of space objects, processing sensor detections and messages into actionable tracks for space situational awareness missions. As a senior member of the team, you will architect and implement sophisticated multi-target tracking systems using cutting-edge state estimation and data association techniques, develop physics-based models to validate performance, and mentor engineers while working closely with software teams to deploy your algorithms into operational systems. WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Lead systems engineering and algorithm development tasks supporting space and missile defense tracking missions, providing technical direction and guidance to team members
• Architect and implement advanced object tracking and state estimation algorithms, including track initiation, maintenance, correlation, and termination
• Design and evaluate multi-target tracking and multi-sensor fusion approaches for EO/IR, RF, or hybrid sensor architectures

• Collaborate with and mentor software engineers to transition tracking algorithms from MATLAB/Python prototypes to production C/C++ code optimized for real-time operational systems
• Drive the systems engineering lifecycle including requirements decomposition, trade studies on tracking approaches, verification and validation planning, and design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
• Lead technical documentation efforts and present at design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and customer engagements
• Mentor engineers in tracking algorithm development, state estimation theory, and best practices
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert for tracking systems, advising program leadership on algorithm performance, risks, and opportunities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related technical field
• 8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and testing multi-target tracking algorithms for aerospace, defense, or autonomous systems
• Demonstrated technical leadership in tracking algorithm development, including leading design efforts, mentoring team members, or serving as a subject matter expert
• Deep theoretical and practical expertise with state estimation techniques, including Kalman Filters (EKF, UKF), multi-target tracking concepts, and Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) filters
• Proven experience developing tracking algorithms that handle track initiation, maintenance, correlation, and termination in operational systems
• Expert proficiency in algorithm development using MATLAB and/or Python with demonstrated experience transitioning algorithms to C++ for production deployment
• Extensive experience with modeling, simulation, and testing workflows including Monte Carlo analysis, sensor data playback, or hardware-in-the-loop environments
• Strong ability to work collaboratively with software engineers, systems engineers, and test teams to integrate tracking algorithms into operational systems

• 10+ years of experience in tracking algorithm development for defense or aerospace applications
• Experience in one or more of the following domains: missile defense or space systems; EO/IR or RF sensors; kill vehicles, interceptors, or countermeasures
• Extensive experience handling challenging tracking scenarios including track fragmentation, ghost tracks, sensor outages, and high-clutter environments
• Deep familiarity with real-time system constraints, embedded systems, or edge compute optimization

We're looking for a principal-level engineer to serve as a technical leader for platform security across Anduril. This role combines deep expertise in cryptography, systems security, and secure architecture with the ability to drive security strategy across business lines and the platform. You'll own the design of Anduril's most critical security systems — cryptographic infrastructure for autonomous platforms, hardware root-of-trust architectures for robotic systems, secure communication protocols for contested environments — and you'll set the technical direction that shapes how security is built into every product. The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) is a US government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. Our FedRAMP program requires that anyone who is accessing customer data or metadata inside the Authorization Boundary be a US Citizen on US Soil. In order for us to triage and assign cases, it is necessary to be able to identify available resources at any given time. For this reason the FedRamp team is composed of three separate shifts: first shift, second shift, and third shift. This posting is for Third Shift, in which your working hours would be 8pm-5am PST. There is a desired commitment to this shift though applicants must have the flexibility to work a more typical schedule (12pm-9pm PST) during their ramping period (between 6 to 9 months) before transitioning to Third shift.

Weekend Shift: We are looking to speak to candidates who are interested in working out of our West Coast offices under our flexible or remote working models, Monday to Friday for the first 6-9 months depending on ramping speed. Once considered ramped, they will transition to a permanent Wednesday to Sunday work week to provide weekend coverage alongside other peers. Saturdays and Sundays are considered fully online workdays and not an on-call shift. Due to the 24/7 nature of our support organization, certain events throughout the year will require volunteering for coverage outside one's normal work days or work hours (i.e. regional offsites, regional holidays, etc). These are typically announced weeks in advance with a sign-up system that considers equitability.

You'll be working alongside our largest customers, solving their complex issues - resolving questions on architecture, performance, recovery, security, and everything in between. You'll be an expert resource on standard methodologies in running MongoDB at scale, whatever that scale may be. Anduril’s Tactical Recon & Strike (TRS) is a division with two missions: 1) build highly capable autonomous drones, and 2) build solid rocket motors at scale. RAIL has two primary customers:

• Mission Autonomy (MA) — Mission Autonomy at Anduril is responsible for coordinating mission-level behaviors by manipulating hardware. For example, “fly to these waypoints,” “enter radio silence mode,” or “arm munitions.”
• Robotics Business Lines — These teams own specific Anduril robots end-to-end, as well as individual pieces of hardware on those robots.

RAIL bridges the gap between Mission Autonomy and diverse sets of hardware by creating common hardware interfaces. To allow Anduril to effortlessly integrate with new hardware. RAIL enables Anduril to scale and deploy ambitious new robot designs on short timelines by leveraging learnings and investments from our existing portfolio of diverse hardware and products.

For example, Anduril procures autopilots from a multitude of different hardware vendors. Each autopilot has a subtly different hardware interface — some use MAVLINK, some use STANAG, others use bespoke vendor-specific serial interfaces. Despite having different interfaces, they all provide standard functionality that flies along a set of waypoints.

As an author of advanced mission behavior, I shouldn’t care whether my autopilot speaks MAVLINK or STANAG — I just want my vehicle to get flying. About the Role

The Ads Applied Data team builds and scales the foundational data infrastructure that powers Moloco’s advertising platform. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimize distributed data systems for real-time and batch processing, ensuring reliable and low-latency delivery of data across the ads ecosystem. The Air Dominance & Strike team at Anduril develops aerial and multi-domain robotic systems. Anduril’s Tactical Recon & Strike (TRS) is a division with two missions: 1) build highly capable autonomous drones, and 2) build solid rocket motors at scale. We transform products like Ghost, Anvil, Bolt, and Altius from early concepts into fully operational capabilities by partnering closely with specialist engineering, operations, and production teams. Through our Anduril Rocket Motor Systems (RMS) team, we design and manufacture solid rocket motors using advanced materials, proprietary formulations, and high-volume production methods—delivering safe, reliable propulsion systems that support a wide range of mission requirements. ABOUT THE JOB

As a Robotics Software Engineer on our TRS team, you'll be at the forefront of cutting-edge autonomous systems development. You'll tackle diverse challenges in autonomy, systems integration, robotics, and networking, making critical engineering decisions that directly impact mission success. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring Anduril's products work seamlessly together to achieve a variety of crucial outcomes. You'll develop innovative solutions for complex robotics problems, balance pragmatic engineering trade-offs with mission-critical requirements, and collaborate across teams to integrate software with hardware systems. Contributing to the entire product lifecycle, from concept to deployment, you'll rapidly prototype and iterate on software solutions. WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Develop and maintain core robotics libraries, including frame transformations, targeting, and guidance systems, that will be utilized across all Anduril robotics platforms
• Lead the development and implementation of major features for our products, such as designing and building Software-in-the-Loop simulators for advanced systems like Altius
• Optimize performance of existing products, primarily focused on our Altius Drone product line
• Collaborate closely with hardware and manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle, providing timely feedback to influence and enhance final hardware designs
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in deployed systems, ensuring optimal performance in the field
• Contribute to the design and implementation of multi-agent coordination systems for UAVs
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design through testing and deployment
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing innovations to improve our products and processes

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or related field
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in C++ or Rust, with experience in Linux development environments
• Demonstrated expertise in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization
• Proven experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems
• Hands-on experience working with and testing electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including hardware and manufacturing
• Strong problem-solving skills and a "Whatever It Takes" mindset
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
• Willingness to relocate to Seattle, WA

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering)
• Expertise in one or more advanced robotics areas: motion planning, perception, localization, mapping, or controls
• Experience with performance optimization and metrics for complex robotic systems
• Proficiency in Python, Rust, and/or Go, in addition to C++
• Hands-on experience programming for embedded systems and physical devices
• Background in multi-agent coordination, particularly with UAVs
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex frame transformation problems (e.g., target localization, multi-degree-of-freedom robotic arms)
• Experience with real-time operating systems and distributed computing
• Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications in robotics
• Knowledge of sensor fusion techniques and implementation
• Understanding of aerodynamics and flight dynamics as applied to UAV systems
• Experience with simulation environments for robotics testing and development
• Track record of contributions to open-source robotics projects or relevant publications
