ABOUT THE JOB

A Chief Engineer at Anduril provides senior technical leadership and oversight on products across major defense projects. They establish technical direction and engineering standards for significant system developments. They make critical technical decisions that impact product design, accompanying project execution, program success and company strategy. They are also a critical partner in customer engagement and management, and can act as a co-lead with the Program Manager. Chief Engineers are seen as the responsible party for their products, and are held accountable for technical delivery & safety.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Lead inter-disciplinary team (e.g., Software, Hardware, Robotics, T&E) to develop and deliver integrated systems for multi-purpose missions.
• Set technical vision and define system architecture to guide overarching development efforts
• Establish and maintain best practices for system development, including software standards, code reviews, configuration management, build processes, testing, etc.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Field Project Manager with deep expertise in the design, build-out and commissioning of hyperscale data center white space electrical systems. We are looking for an Senior Electrical Test Design Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Reston, Virginia. You will deliver test systems for Anduril’s electronic products. As a strong Test Automation Engineer you will need to have a proven track record of delivering turn key test solution for electronic components and systems and has a background in hardware, software, integration and sustainment. This person will work with the rest of the organization to identify gaps in test coverage and own the design and delivery of the hardware and software test solution. Anduril develops test systems used to ensure the quality and reliability of our aerial and ground based systems. The team works on air vehicles such as Roadrunner, Ghost, Anvil and Fury and develop complex manufacturing test solutions to our internal manufacturing team or contract manufacturers. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in Schematic Capture and PCBA layout

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our data center team, responsible for ensuring safe and effective execution of commissioning activities across electrical systems, including Installation Verification Checks (IVC), Functional Performance Tests (FPT), and Integrated System Tests (IST). The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years of experience in commissioning mission-critical electrical systems, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to minimize risks and maintain system performance during testing. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring safe field execution of L2 Installation Verification Checks (IVC), L3 Pre-Functional Checks (PFC), L4 Functional Performance Tests (FPT), L5 Integrated System Tests (IST) and associated activities across the electrical equipment and infrastructure of the data center. (Cross functional support is required in the absence of a mechanical technician)
• Complete trouble shooting and fault-finding activities on systems, plant & equipment and logging issues through the Automated Commissioning Management System (ACMS) - Nexus.
• Ensuring a swift response to plant emergencies e.g. equipment failures to minimize any potential impacts during FPT and IST testing
• Develop and review equipment specific method statements, System of Operation (SOO) and Description of Operation (DOO) documentation to create test scripts to effectively and safely conduct testing on equipment outlined in the commissioning test plan
• Execute test scripts for all electrical equipment ensuring to capture all testing requirements based on specifications, client requirements and project documentation.
• Support field works as required by the leadership team, in conjunction with the General Contractor (GC), to ensure all works are completed as per scope and approved test script
• Review the documentation supplied by the Engineer of Record (EoR) group relating to equipment upgrades, modifications, and specification changes. Execute amendments as they arise such as control philosophy updates, changes to LOTO plans, etc. and ensure any changes are effectively communicated to the commissioning team
• Report on daily script status illustrating specifically what assets have passed, failed, or have delays / cancellations, and ensuring issues are logged immediately to develop a risk registry for assets being tested
• Liaise with project teams (Client, GC, Vendors, Ops) to ensure any system modifications or invasive works are communicated to the commissioning team and any works requiring support are resourced accordingly
• Familiarity with site SOP’s and ensure strict adherence to same for all activities performed.
• Support the team with the operation of all electrical equipment, infrastructure, test equipment and its installation/deinstallation
• Support the operation of equipment via BAS & CX Manager control systems
• Support testing activities and electrical personnel during FPT and IST
• Responsible for the application of Tamper Seals and the recording of their location
• Responsible for the development and completion of As Left Settings documentation once L4 & L5 commissioning is complete

• Actively partner with infrastructure, application, product, and other stakeholders to ensure deployed solutions minimize security and privacy risks

REQUIREMENTS

• B.A. or B.S. (or higher) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering program with strong academic performance preferred
• 10+ years of information security experience, with a strong focus on offensive security, penetration testing, or vulnerability research
• Prior experience performing security testing and assessment in IoT, embedded, or firmware based environments
• Working knowledge of embedded system design and constraints (development experience a plus, but not required)
• Familiarity with using hardware debugging equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzer and other tools
• Familiarity with interface protocols such as UART, I²C, SPI, JTAG, and related tooling.
• Experience analyzing embedded Linux systems and firmware images.
• Familiarity with ARM CPU architectures with exposure to x86, RISC-V, or others as a plus
• Experience with reverse-engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, and/or Binary Ninja
• Certification in one or more Information Security disciplines is preferred or ability to obtain certifications.
• Self-starter, analytical, tenacious problem solver
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for a highly collaborative environment
• Rigorous attention to detail and focus on quality of deliverables
• Proven team experience and comfort in a team-oriented environment

RESPONSIBILITIES 
The primary job responsibilities will include:

• Lead project development and ensure on-time releases by working closely with internal teams and external partners.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team members, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Develop, test, and debug embedded software in Linux and Android environments.
• Work with external partners to securely integrate their embedded software with the Alarm.com platform.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as Quality Engineering, Software Engineering, and Product Management to ensure on-time delivery of a fully tested and compatible device that meets product requirements.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with teams to ensure timely project execution.
• Contribute to system-level debugging, performance profiling, and validation of embedded systems.
• Leverage and advocate for the use of AI tools to accelerate development and encourage adoption across the team.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of experience in embedded software development on Linux-based platforms.
• Strong proficiency in developing C++ applications for embedded systems using scalable, efficient, and well-structured software architecture and design principles.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on robustness, scalability, and product quality.
• Passion for technology and enthusiasm for building high-quality consumer technology products.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

NICE-TO-HAVES

• Hands-on experience with AOSP, Android NDK, and Android native application development and Linux kernel development.
• Familiarity with networking (cellular, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Z-Wave, Zigbee, Matter).
• Experience with penetration testing and ethical hacking.
