What You'll Do

• Oversee key EVT, DVT and PVT build milestones at our JDM R&D and factory facilities. Leverage your engineering expertise to de-risk NPI builds and expedite technical troubleshooting independently. 
• Own manufacturing readiness, line bring up, and FATP problem solving for a complex set of electromechanical products within one of Verkada’s newest product lines. 
• Guide material readiness, fixture/jig readiness, and other clear to build efforts in advance of FATP. Coordinate between JDM manufacturing partners and internal firmware team to assess FATP flow, test coverage, fixture/equipment plans and associated test limits.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Stripe Terminal Device Software Quality Assurance  team. You will lead the certification test strategy for Canonical’s PC OEM and ODM partnerships, including Advantech, ASUS, Dell, HP,  and Lenovo, deepening the test coverage for both new and existing certified hardware. You will pioneer the use of Canonical’s open source test frameworks and custom designed hardware to drive automated hardware validation of the operating system. This is a challenging position for a quality focused engineering leader, and requires an analytical mind with a passion for test automation and team leadership.

• Lead the development and maintenance of Canonical’s hardware certification test suite

What your day will look like

• Own a fully automated server lab with the latest server and network silicon from leading vendors.
• Use your Python development skills to develop the Metal as a Service (MAAS) software to work with a large variety of server and network hardware.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with software development teams at BBPOS and Stripe Terminal (US and Canada) to ensure high quality releases for Payment terminals and components such as SDKs, EMV Configs, Android Apps, Firmware and ROM.
• Develop comprehensive non-functional test plans and perform exploratory testing to validate software functionality. 
• Perform functional, regression and non-functional testing to identify defects and verify stability and accuracy of software products before releasing to users. 
• Report software defects and work closely with developers and project managers to ensure resolution of identified defects and monitor resolution process. 
• Provide timely updates on testing progress and results to project stakeholders including potential risks and impact on users. 
• Continuously refine the testing process by identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements
