Mission Summary:

Test Specialists support the business by working with Operations, Testing, Autonomy, Mapping, as well as System and Vehicle Integration Engineers to execute on-vehicle tests, refine test and verification plans, identify and resolve issues, and provide test results. They communicate between teams and help with improving vehicle testing outcomes. 

This role will focus on executing on-vehicle tests, reporting out test results, and improving overall testing efficiency by identifying gaps and recommending process refinements. While efficiency is crucial, nothing comes before safety, and the Test Specialists is a key team member to uphold this responsibility.

FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN – Level 1, 2 or 3

Purpose of Position:

IEM will provide training on our specific equipment and commissioning process in Ashburn, VA for approximately 4 weeks. You will be responsible for hands-on field service work at customer sites, with a focus on installation of components and subassemblies, and basic commissioning of IEM equipment primarily in data center or industrial applications. This includes, but may not be limited to:

• Attending project meetings as required, including coordination with contractors and clients.
• Installation and modification of electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies which may include: Panelboard interiors, Circuit breakers, Bus bar, Switchgear section doors and subpanels, addition of control components, Power Cabling and control wiring;
• Perform basic testing of modified assemblies (visual, ductor, etc.).
• Perform basic commissioning of switchboards, controls panels, and power products.
• Troubleshooting of electrical circuits and networking equipment.
• Coordinating with Technical Project Manager or manufacturing facilities to find solutions to product or commissioning issues identified by IEM or reported by the customer in the field, and identifying additional field resources needed for installation and replacement parts.

Compensation

S JOB SUMMARY:

The Field Service Support Specialist will provide comprehensive administrative and management support to the field service management team of IEM, a large electrical equipment manufacturing company. This role involves coordinating field service activities, managing documentation, assisting in the scheduling of field service technicians and maintaining internal NICET certifications for the FS department. This role is responsible for assisting with managing NICET test taking, deployments of practice tests and ensuring the techs make their test dates. This position will regularly interface between multiple departments within our company as well with outside vendors, customers and other manufacturing facilities in the IEM family. This position will work closely with the Field Service Senior Director, while also interfacing with the purchasing and manufacturing teams to ensure material and parts requests are fulfilled correctly, ensure they will be received at the customer sites prior to being needed onsite by our field technicians. The Field Service Support Specialist will be required to follow up with the field team to ensure all closeout documentation is completed correctly from the field and that the techs have successfully uploaded this documentation to our internal ERP and CRM systems. Assist with scheduling and coordination of assigned tasks, report to management if there are any unfulfilled items that prevent customer invoicing. Responsible for assisting management with creating monthly financial reports related to field services financial performance associated with completed projects. This role is responsible to assist in creating PowerPoint presentations and perform other duties which may be required by your supervisor 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Administrative Support:

• Maintain and update service records, contracts, and customer/vendor information in the FS company database.
• Prepare and distribute completes service reports, invoices, project close out paperwork and other documentation required.
• Assist in onboarding new vendors and contractors, issuing the compliance documentation and follow up through completion of the onboarding process.

• Assist in scheduling and dispatching field service technicians based on training requirements, customer needs and availability.

• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely replenishment of necessary supplies. 
• Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, perform regular inventory documentation and system audits.
• Tracking the shipping and receiving of delivered FS parts and test equipment that arrive at the Virginia facility. 
• Assist in developing an asset tracking system for FS tools and equipment.

The SQE position is based at the Pittsburgh Technical Center, Pittsburgh PA, and reports to the Supplier Quality Manager based at the Las Vegas, Nevada Technical Center. Quarterly travel to Supplier manufacturing sites is anticipated (at a minimum). 

The SQE will be responsible for executing the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process with Suppliers selected for potential Generation 3 activities, in addition to pursuing continuous improvement and warranty reduction for the current Generation 2 build. The role involves conducting Program Reviews against established program milestones and escalating issues as necessary. The individual must ensure the supply base adheres to Motional standards, that quality and manufacturing processes are enabled, and that non-conformances are identified and prevented from proceeding to subsequent manufacturing sites. At Motional, large scale orchestration for data analysis plays a critical role in delivering our ML-centered autonomous driving vehicle. Our robo-taxi ML Models and software are developed by hundreds of developers and deployed multiple times a day – The Ground Truth Regression team provides the large scale perception analysis framework for validating all changes to perception which can impact the autonomous vehicle behavior. 

The GTRegression team validates the end impact of ML and software changes to the autonomous vehicle while those changes are in development, providing the tools for Root Cause Analysis, and safety consideration. We monitor for model errors, anomalies, rare objects & long-tail driving scenarios across thousands of driving hours. The team develops the full stack – AWS Kubernetes orchestration framework, ReSimulation, model metrics, regression reports, and deep dive analysis UI’s. The team works together with all other perception and ML teams to develop the metrics and analyze results.
