Position Overview

The Senior Thermal Systems Design Release Engineer (DRE) serves as the technical leader and end to end owner of advanced thermal management components and subsystems across multiple vehicle programs. This role is responsible for leading the design, development, validation, release, and lifecycle support of complex thermal hardware including cooling modules, HVAC systems, refrigerant circuits, battery thermal systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and related fluid handling components.
The senior DRE ensures that all thermal subsystems meet or exceed OEM performance, durability, cost, quality, manufacturing, and timing targets from program initiation through Job 1 and into post launch operations. Validation Strategy & Vehicle Build Support

• Develop, own, and execute comprehensive DVP&R plans for thermal components and subsystems.

• Lead technical support for thermal testing campaigns including environmental chambers, weather events, dynamometer testing, and wind tunnel evaluations.

Quality, Manufacturing & Launch Excellence

• Coordinate closely with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure that component designs meet plant requirements and process capabilities.
• Lead and support PFMEA reviews, control plan development, and PPAP documentation for thermal systems.

The essence of this role is to: 

• Support the development, integration, and calibration of the powertrain and drive systems for Scout pickup trucks and SUVs (BEV / EREV)

The Vehicle Dynamics Tuning Engineer plays an integral part in the vehicle dynamics development by providing feedback to programs based on test results. • 5+ years of experience in embedded or automotive software development, ideally with hands-on platform bring-up experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++, Bash, and Python. 
• Proven experience with using and modifying Middlewares like OpenDDS, comm protocols utilizing gRPC or similar
• Deep understanding of Linux-based embedded systems (Yocto, systemd, bootloaders, device trees).
• Familiarity with QNX and Adaptive AUTOSAR environments and the ability to configure and debug them on target hardware.
• Experience with bring-up on automotive-grade SoCs (e.g., NVIDIA Orin, Qualcomm SA8295/SA8650, Renesas, TI).
• Comfortable working with hardware debuggers, flashing tools, serial consoles, and board support packages (BSPs).
• Familiarity with communication protocols like CAN, Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I2C.
• Hands-on experience integrating embedded platforms into CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks.

Desired 

• Exposure to automotive verification environments (e.g., HIL systems, Vector toolchains, custom CI rigs).
• Experience working in a safety-critical domain with an understanding of ISO 26262, boot-time determinism, and watchdogs.
• Understanding of secure boot, OTA updates, and system-level cybersecurity topics.
• Familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, Git, and artifact management tools like JFrog Artifactory.
